Cynthia Sutton, Logan’s director of alumni relations and Amber Henry, EdD, Logan’s director of continuing education came to the university in fall 2022 from Missouri Baptist University in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Three College of Chiropractic faculty members recently celebrated a combined 145 years of teaching at Logan University: Roy Hillgartner, DC (’69), instructor; John Gutweiler, PhD, professor; and Richard Cranwell, DC (’76), MS, DACBN, professor. After decades of dedication, each educator has made his mark on the university. Dr. Cranwell—who is celebrating 46 years of teaching this April—has developed numerous courses for Logan, including static palpation, motion palpation, extremity adjusting and case management. Logan Celebrates First Graduating Class from Strength & Conditioning Program

On April 22, 2023, seven students made history when they became the first graduating class from Logan’s Master of Science in Strength & Conditioning (MS-SC) program. The program was announced in the fall of 2021 and classes officially began in summer 2022. The MS-SC program’s founder and faculty members know high-performing athletes deserve the most qualified, well-rounded athletic performance coaches. With a thirst for knowledge and a desire to help others, Sara Thoele found her place at Logan University as both a staff member and student. Following her graduation from Cornell College in 2013, Sara’s plans of being a social worker changed after having to move home to help take care of her grandmother. “After moving home, I wasn’t sure what to do,” Sara said. “Finding the position as a patient service representative at Logan University’s Southfield Health Center – and at the Stephen A. Karla Curran first considered pursuing her MS in nutrition while working as a personal trainer. Although many of her clients had well-rounded workout routines, she realized most did not know what to eat and drink to feel and perform at their best. “They had no problem working out, but they didn’t know where to even begin with their nutrition,” Karla said. “It was a huge gap for them.
