Logan DC Student Shines in Disney+ Original Series

Delynel N. Carmona Torres’ resume currently reads, “bachelor’s degree in natural sciences from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey, trimester 4 Doctor of Chiropractic student at Logan University, and Disney+ actress.” Delynel had done a few modeling jobs while growing up, but working in the entertainment industry never crossed her mind. However, when the opportunity to appear in a Disney+ original series arose, she jumped at the chance. “I never thought about acting on a television show, let alone on a platform that is viewed worldwide,” Delynel said. “But when a contact I had reached out to said they …

DC Graduate Selected for Prestigious Dartmouth Fellowship

Originally from Montana, Logan Benjamin, DC (‘22), CSCS, attended Montana State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance. The Important Role Nutrition Plays in Chiropractic Care

A person’s diet can significantly impact the function of their musculoskeletal system. That is why many chiropractors treat their patients by not only providing adjustments, but also evaluating their nutritional health. “Nutrition and chiropractic care have always gone hand in hand,” said Weston Holzinger, DC (‘16), MS-NHP (‘16), DABCI, assistant professor at Logan University. “Many influential figures in chiropractic—including Drs. BJ Palmer and Clarence Gonstead—gave nutritional advice as part of their whole health approach to health care.” According to Dr. Holzinger, making smart food choices can help people maximize the benefits of their chiropractic care. For instance, a poor diet …

Logan DC Student Believes Teamwork Makes the Difference

From the time Aubrianna Jones began playing sports, the word “teamwork” resonated with her. But she never expected that mindset to pour into her desire to work in clinical practice. “I’m finding that teamwork makes a difference to patients, especially when they can see the collaboration that comes with it,” she said. “There’s an assurance that patients get when they have a team of doctors all rooting for their success.” Aubrianna is a Trimester 10 Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) student and was recently accepted into a competitive four-month multidisciplinary Chiropractic Student Preceptorship Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin in …

There’s No Place Like Home for the Kaufer Brothers

Arthur Kaufer, DC (’89) and David Kaufer, DC (’89) try to make their patients feel as at home as they do at their chiropractic practice. For 34 years the brothers have operated Kaufer Chiropractic from the same historic 1930s home where they grew up. “I leave my house in the morning, and I’m at home the rest of my day at my office,” Dr. David said. “Our practice is not a typical doctor’s office. We enjoy the welcoming atmosphere it offers, and so do our patients.” Their father, Marshall Kaufer, DC, established the original Kaufer Chiropractic in the Ridgewood neighborhood …

Logan Alumnus Blazes Trail for Chiropractors in Integrative Medicine

Timothy “TJ” Williamson, DC (’19), attended the University of Arkansas for his bachelor’s degree in exercise science. While there he worked as a personal trainer and at a physical therapy practice helping a variety of patients from CrossFit athletes to Razorback football players. “The chiropractors I worked with while at Arkansas were Active Release Technique (ART) specialists who worked closely with athletes on myofascial release,” said Dr. Williamson. “At the time I knew I wanted to get into the medical field but wasn’t sure which path to take. I then saw the high demand for treating back pain and helping …
