Because helping others is something Julia has always been passionate about, she became a nurse in 1995. After many years of experience, she decided to take time off to raise her children. Master of Science in Sports Science & Rehabilitation student Victoriano Mesa has always been an active person, but it wasn’t until just a few years ago that he started his journey in powerlifting. “Sophomore year of college, I was working out at the rec center and someone asked me if I was on the powerlifting team. Ava Anderson is no stranger to technology, having a bachelor’s degree in mechatronics engineering, which combines mechanical, computer and electrical systems. To learn how to integrate that knowledge into the health field, she’s pursuing a Master of Health Informatics (MS-HI) degree at Logan University. Deciding to pursue a terminal degree can cause stress, anxiety and loneliness. A few Logan students experienced these emotions when applying for medical school. After Melissa Warren, Nancy Kirkland and Delphine Nchako began Logan University’s online Master of Science in Health Informatics degree program in January 2020, it didn’t take long for them to realize they needed to lean on one another for support. Meet Allison Harvey, DC, instructor in Logan’s Master of Science in Chiropractic Pediatric program. Specializing in pediatric care, Dr. Harvey has been treating children since 2006 and is one of the only board-eligible Diplomates in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics (DICCP) in Missouri. In addition to serving as the senior clinician for the pediatric department at the Montgomery Health Center on Logan University’s campus, Dr. Harvey teaches pediatric courses to trimester 7 Doctor of Chiropractic students and oversees the very specialized, highly sought-after pediatrics rotation.
