While working on her master’s degree in athletic leadership and positive coaching at the University of Missouri, Brianna Kraft, MEd, LAT, ATC worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the university’s track and field and cross country programs. There she met Brittany Ramirez, DC, MS, LAT, ATC, CCSP®, who introduced her to Logan University and the adjunct professor position teaching courses in the Master of Science in Sports Science & Rehabilitation (MS-SSR) program. Logan University’s online Master of Science in Sport Science and Rehabilitation (MS-SSR) program combines virtual learning courses with a hands-on internship experience. As a part of the MS-SSR degree, students in the graduate program are required to complete an internship at a site of their choosing. Once approved by the Program Director, students work in a clinical setting with health professionals for a total of 180 hours over a 15-week time frame. Nancy Mitchell, MSN, RN is the director of nursing and dean of health science at East Central College (ECC) in Union, Missouri. Nancy attended ECC for her associate degree before earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Central Methodist University and her master’s in nursing from Maryville University. She came back to ECC as a full-time nursing instructor, a position she held for more than 15 years, until she was promoted to her current position.
