Women’s Health Symposium Speaker: Dr. Alicia M. Yochum

Attendees at this year’s Women’s Health Symposium will have the pleasure of learning from Alicia M. Yochum, RN, DC (’11), DACBR, RMSK in two separate presentations. In her first, a case-based lecture titled “What Could be Walking Through Your Door?”, she will review a wide range of pathology from sports injury, arthritis, tumors, fractures, spinal cord injuries, infection and neoplasm. In addition, Dr. Yochum will cover the proper utilization of imaging, which will reinforce the principle that arthritis is not the only pathology that chiropractors may treat.

Dr. Yochum’s second presentation, titled “Imaging the Female Patient,” will cover the unique factors associated with imaging the female patient and how those factors impact examination. She will discuss radiation exposure and dosage, cover common female pathology, and review topics like uterine and ovarian carcinoma, pubic osteitis, gallstone and degenerative spondylolisthesis.

Dr. Yochum earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California in 2007. In 2011, Dr. Yochum graduated from Logan University with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

Currently, Dr. Yochum performs and interprets diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasounds for doctors in the Denver metro region at Touchstone Imaging Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She also serves as the staff chiropractic radiologist at Rocky Mountain Chiropractic Radiological Center in Denver, Colorado. Prior to these positions, Dr. Yochum was a diagnostic imaging resident, then fellow at Logan University.

Over the last decade, Dr. Yochum has earned numerous awards, spoken at over 100 lectures, had her research included in dozens of publications, performed community service and held multiple leadership positions within various professional groups.

 

The 2nd Annual Women’s Health Symposium is presented by Logan University in conjunction with the American Chiropractic Association Council on Women’s Health. This year’s event will be on-demand October 17 through December 18, 2020. Learn more and register here.
