Logan University is proud to be participating in the 10th Annual USA Hockey Sled Classic hosted by the Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) and the St. Louis Blues and presented by the National Hockey League and USA Hockey. The event will be held Nov. 21-24 at the Centene Community Ice Center in St. Louis – the practice facility and community rink of the St. Louis Blues – and will feature a round-robin format tournament between 35 NHL-affiliated sled hockey teams. Gateway to Gold Event Introduces Youth to Para Powerlifting

Mary Hodge, high performance manager for USA Para Powerlifting, recently participated in one of four national Gateway to Gold events. The free events are designed for youth with physical and visual impairments to test their athletic skills in a Paralympic sport.   Earlier this month in Texas, the Houston Sports Authority & TIRR Memorial Herman, a rehabilitation hospital, hosted four sports: powerlifting, table tennis, fencing and archery. Hodge said the event was a great opportunity to expose youth to various sports. “The kids were excited, and very supportive of each other – it was just a lot of fun,” she said. …
