What’s New and Different with L4

Logan University’s new continuing education platform, L4 – Logan Life-Long Learning, provides cutting-edge, convenient, affordable and expert-led continuing education courses in a variety of topics and formats.

“The wonderful thing about L4 is it gives learners across the world access to continuing education classes when and where it is most convenient for them,” said Amber Henry, MEd, EdS, EdD, Logan’s director of continuing education. “Before L4, Logan’s continuing education opportunities were only offered in-person. Now, alumni, friends and other practicing health care professionals can earn continuing education credit from Logan from the comfort of their home.”

L4 offers four different learning formats: in-person, on-demand, webinar and hybrid.

  • In-person courses require participants to travel to a location and attend the course with the instructor and other participants at a specific place and time.
  • On-demand courses can be taken anytime and anywhere online. Learning activities may include lecture videos, slide presentations, short quizzes, reading, and reflection.
  • Webinar courses are when the instructor and the learners participate together in an interactive online event at the same time.
  • Hybrid courses combine traditional, in-person “seat time” with some online learning activities prior to or after the in-person learning.

As a whole health institution, Logan offers a wide variety of continuing education topics.  Some nutrition courses allow Doctors of Chiropractic and Registered Dietitians to take the same course for CE credits.  There are also courses that do not offer CE credit but are available for the sake of learning and enjoyment.

“Another question we get asked is if you have to complete the entire on-demand/online course in one sitting, and the answer is no,” explained Dr. Henry. “L4 courses allow you to start and stop the course at any time and return at a later date.”

The offered learning opportunities on the L4 platform are constantly changing, with new courses added throughout the year.
