Overview of Autism Spectrum Disorders & Supporting Vibrant Health on the Spectrum Seminar

Dr. Janet Lintala is the author of the book “The Un-Prescription for Autism” that describes “a natural approach for a calmer, happier, and more focused child.” And we are honored to have her on campus this weekend presenting an overview of autism spectrum disorders and supporting vibrant health on the spectrum. This 12-hour seminar is loaded with instruction that will give you much more information on the measures you can take in your practice to help the autistic patient. Dr. Lintala begins with an overview of autism including diagnostic criteria, signs of autism-screening and diagnosis, related conditions and much more. She covers the medical challenges associated with autistic spectrum disorders and uses case presentations that outline support protocols and results. She also presents a case on adult residential living with support protocols and results. She discusses autism spectrum disorders in the chiropractic office and includes working with MDs and other professionals. As the seminar continues Dr. Lintala discusses her new patient questionnaire and how to assess the patient with ASD and generate a support plan and support team using this questionnaire. Dr. Lintala discusses and describes lab tests for ASD. She outlines basic support strategies including basic GI support protocols, immune support protocols; and diet support including healthy diet tips for your patient. She addresses special diets such as Feingold Diet and IgG 4-Day Rotation Diet. Also included in this information-packed presentation is information on oral health, calming strategies for anxiety and aggressive behaviors, sleep hygiene tips, attention and focus support, and anti-inflammatory and mitochondrial support strategies. She rounds out the presentation with additional case studies, more support strategies and how to build a multi-specialty team for your patients. The seminar is taught by Janet C. Lintala, D.C. Dr. Lintala is a 1994 summa cum laude graduate of National University of Health Sciences. She practices at the Autism Recovery Resource Center Pllc in Beckley, West Virginia and is a member of the NCMIS Speakers Bureau.
