Logan Welcomes Director of Nutrition Programs

Logan University welcomes Jamie Bommarito Daugherty, PhD, RDN, LD as Director of the Master of Science in Applied Nutrition & Dietetics and the Master of Science in Nutrition & Human Performance programs.

Dr. Daugherty is a registered dietitian with more than 20 years of experience, blending nutrition and culinary arts to promote practical, approachable lifestyles.

“I’m thrilled to begin this role at Logan and to return to higher education, where I can support and serve students in meaningful ways. I’m especially excited to help create transformative learning experiences for those starting their journey in dietetics,” Dr. Daugherty said. “I look forward to collaborating across disciplines to build dynamic, multidisciplinary opportunities that empower students to enter their field with a well-rounded, holistic perspective.”

Dr. Daugherty received a BA in Psychology from Saint Louis University (SLU) and BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from University of Illinois – Chicago, as well as a master’s in Nutrition and Physical Performance from SLU and a PhD in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. She also has a certificate in Culinary Arts from Boston University to aid bridging the gap between culinary and nutrition.

Her experience spans kitchens, classrooms and clinical settings, where she fosters positive relationships with food, health and movement. Dr. Daugherty has worked with families, individuals managing conditions such as diabetes, celiac disease and eating disorders, as well as students and athletes striving to meet personal goals.

Outside of work, Dr. Daugherty enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, staying active outdoors, traveling, reading, cooking and taking photos.
