In honor of Black History Month, we sat down with Kyle Brown, a trimester 6 Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) student at Logan University and president of Logan’s Student American Black Chiropractic Association (SABCA). Originally from Taylorsville, Mississippi, Kyle has been an active member of SABCA since his first trimester — but it wasn’t until attending the Evoke Conference in St. Louis that he found his deeper purpose within the organization.
“I really enjoyed the networking and the connections I made,” Kyle said. “So, I thought I’d give the club more of a chance and started going full time.”
That decision helped Kyle discover a passion for elevating himself as a future chiropractor while also helping others access the same opportunities. “I enjoy being a bridge for people, connecting them and learning from each other,” he said.
This trimester, Kyle has focused on strengthening SABCA’s impact by emphasizing hands-on learning. Under his leadership, the club has dedicated more time to adjusting labs, study groups and creating spaces where members can support each other both personally and academically.
That commitment arrives at an exciting moment for SABCA and Logan. For the first time in many years, the SABCA Central Regional Conference will be held on Logan’s campus March 13–14, 2026. The conference will feature an inspiring lineup of speakers — many of them Logan alumni — who will share their experiences, clinical insights and diverse perspectives within the chiropractic profession.
“The event is really about seeing the different perspectives of chiropractors,” Kyle said. “It’s open to all, and I highly encourage anyone who wants to see what we’re about to attend. Keep an open mind. You never know who you might meet. These events help people find their passion and ‘why’ for being a chiropractor.”
As Logan honors Black History Month, we celebrate student leaders like Kyle who continually uplift others, build community and create pathways for future success.
