Dr. Kathy Boulet received for B.A from the University of Maine and then Logan College of Chiropractic where she received a Doctorate in Chiropractic.
During her time at Logan, she participated in the first pilot project with integrating chiropractic within hospitals and completed a medical externship program with a St. Louis Hospital. Upon graduation she continued her studies, and was accepted for an internship program through the University of Massachusetts Medical School in MBSR/Stress Management studying under Jon Kabat-Zinn in the Stress Reduction Clinic.
Looking at the body as a whole, she continued her training and has received a diplomate in acupuncture and a diplomat in chronic pain management through the American Academy of Pain Management. In addition, she has extensive training in the area of nutrition and functional medicine.
Dr. Boulet has been active within the community and her profession. She served as the vice president of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA). Within ACA, she served as a founding member of the ACA Council on Chiropractic Acupuncture. As a member of the Maine Chiropractic Association (MCA), Dr. Boulet served 17 years as a chairperson of the legislative committee and chair of the Medicare demonstration project representing Maine. She continued to become the first female president elected by MCA and has twice been named MCA’s Chiropractor of the Year.
Additionally, Dr. Boulet has served on the Medical Advisory Board for Maine Employers Mutual Insurance Company and was appointed by the Governor to represent chiropractic on the Maine Quality Forum to advocate for high quality health care and informed healthcare choices. Dr. Boulet has been with Togus VA Maine for the past 8 years practicing in Pain and Integrative Medicine. In addition, to providing chiropractic care for Veterans, she has worked with other providers to help develop Battlefield Acupuncture and mindfulness group programs within VA Maine and serves as VA Maine Whole Health Clinical Director.
