Dana Underkofler-Mercer, DC, MS

Dr. Dana Underkofler-Mercer is a Professor at Logan University as well as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for the College of Chiropractic. She has earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, Doctor of Chiropractic Degree (1998) and a Masters in Sports Science and Rehabilitation (2010) from Logan University. She is a certified Medical Laser Safety Officer and has lectured on laser safety and applications in the classroom, post graduate seminars, and at AFIDE in Havana, Cuba.

Dr. Mercer has been in private practice in the St. Louis area and has worked at Logan University as a Clinician in the Student and Outpatient Health Centers. She has been instrumental in the development of Logan’s health center at Paraquad, and in creating the Anatomy Centered Education and Science (A.C.E.S) summer workshop program for high school students interested in careers in various health fields.

Her faculty responsibilities include class instruction in the Undergraduate and Master’s Programs, as well as the Doctor of Chiropractic Program at Logan. Her lead and co-lead course instruction has included the Fundamentals of Biomechanics, Diversified Technique, Orthopedics, I and II, Physical Diagnosis I and II, Clinical Methods I, III, IV and V, Physiological Therapeutics- Active Rehab and Modalities, Emergency Procedures, Lower Extremity Rehabilitation, Assessment Center Class Experiences.
Dr. Mercer is active on various committees at Logan, aids in the training of standardized patients, a trimester facilitator, and administrator of student proficiency exams for clinical assessment.  She is an active committee member for Shine the Light and for the Health & Wellness Task Force, both at Paraquad.

Dr. Mercer has been the honored recipient of the Emerson Award for Excellence in Teaching.
