The University’s current strategic plan was developed in 2025 through an inclusive and evidence-informed process that culminated in the 2025 Strategic Planning Retreat, themed “Shaping Our Future Together: Innovation, Engagement, and Impact.” This retreat served as a dynamic forum for dialogue, bringing together institutional leadership and diverse stakeholders to critically examine opportunities and challenges, and to co-create priorities that advance institutional growth, innovation, and impact.

The resulting plan is anchored in five interrelated strategic pillars—Workforce Engagement, Student Success, Academic Innovation, Financial Stability, and Brand Awareness. Each pillar reflects a shared commitment to collaborative governance, continuous improvement, and actionable strategies that position the University for sustained excellence and transformative outcomes.

Our Journey: How Did We Get Here?

  • 2024 Great College to Work For Survey revealed the need for deeper workforce engagement in strategic planning.
  • Listening sessions confirmed employees’ desire for representation and voice in decision-making.
  • Office of Operational Excellence, Planning, and Learning collected feedback on four key questions:
    1. Actions needed to achieve Logan’s future goals
    2. Department contributions to strategic objectives
    3. Current top priorities and alignment with mission
    4. Future priorities from each perspective
  • Responses from all divisions compiled into a Strategic Planning Summary Report.
  • Report presented to Cabinet for review and discussion.
  • Cabinet and senior leadership identified Five Strategic Pillars:
  1. Workforce Engagement
  2. Student Success
  3. Academic Innovation
  4. Financial Stability
  5. Brand Awareness
  • Hybrid retreat themed “Shaping Our Future Together: Innovation, Engagement, and Impact.”
  • Goals:
    • Build shared understanding of pillars
    • Develop actionable strategies
    • Foster cross-functional collaboration
  • Retreat results synthesized into Strategic Planning Retreat Results Summary Report, including:
    • Strategic priorities
    • Initiatives
    • Suggested KPIs and measures
  • Cabinet retreat to finalize initiatives and timelines.
  • Board of Trustees review and approval.
  • Launch of a bold three-year strategic planning cycle—reflecting voices of our people and commitment to excellence.

Please Note: Logan University is on a three-year review cycle. The next review cycle will start in Fall 2028.
