Norman W. Kettner, DC, DACBR, DCBCN, FICC

Biography

Dr. Norman W. Kettner, a pioneering figure in chiropractic radiology and neuroscience. Dr. Kettner serves as the Dean of Research and Emeritus Professor of Radiology at Logan University, where he has been a dedicated faculty member since 1980 and led the Department of Radiology for over 35 years.
In addition to his board certifications in radiology and neurology, Dr. Kettner has cultivated deep expertise in functional neuroimaging, including fMRI, MEG, and PET technologies. In 2001, he initiated a landmark research collaboration with the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School’s largest teaching hospital. This partnership has focused on exploring the brain’s response to acupuncture, chronic pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome, and more recently, the effects of spinal manipulation in patients with chronic low back pain.
Dr. Kettner’s work has resulted in numerous high-impact publications in leading journals such as NeuroImage, Human Brain Mapping, PAIN, and BRAIN. He has authored over 175 peer-reviewed articles and 16 textbook chapters, contributing significantly to the advancement of radiology, neurology, and integrative pain research.
