Jill Pratte, DHPE, MS, LAT, ATC
Biography
Dr. Jill Pratte is a 2022 Logan University Alum of the Doctor of Health Professions Education Program. She currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Sports Science & Rehabilitation Master’s Program within the College of Health Sciences here at Logan University. For more than 25 years, Jill has taught in higher education, specializing in various areas of sports medicine, and exercise science. She has a passion for teaching lifelong learning skills that will prepare students for a dynamic role in healthcare and sports science. Her online classroom facilitates an engaging learning experience to foster student creativity and collaboration.
During her five years of service at Logan University, Dr. Pratte has been honored with the College of Health Sciences Outstanding Faculty Award on multiple occasions and was presented with the prestigious J. Clay McDonald Outstanding Faculty Award. Jill was given the Leaders Made Award as a Logan Graduate. Dr. Pratte was a speaker at the Focus on Teaching & Technology Conference as part of the Award-Winning Teacher Panel Discussion.
Dr. Pratte is a certified athletic trainer with over 30 years of experience in caring for collegiate, high-school, and youth sports athletes. She was a clinical coordinator of an accredited athletic training program for 20 years at the collegiate level. Jill is a Central Methodist University Athletics Hall of Fame Member inducted for her athletic training services. She was also honored as Professor of Athletic Training Emerita at Central Methodist. In 2012, Jill was presented with the NAIA National Athletic Trainer of the Year Award. She is an honorary member of the National Society of Leadership & Success voted in by her students.
Dr. Pratte completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She obtained a Master of Science in Health Education Degree emphasizing Exercise Physiology & Cardiac Rehabilitation from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Personally, Jill enjoys being outdoors on the lake. She is married and has one son who plays baseball at Drury University.
