Dr. Adam Carter serves as Program Director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Logan University, where he leads the development, implementation, and ongoing growth of the program. His work includes curriculum design, faculty recruitment and supervision, accreditation preparation, student support, community partnership development, and overall program administration. He also teaches and mentors students, ensuring the program prepares future counselors to meet the evolving mental health needs of diverse individuals, families, and communities.

Adil Khan began at Logan in May 2013 and serves as the Chief Financial Officer. He earned his Masters of Business Administration in May 2008 from Lindenwood University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. Adil also oversees the bookstore, cafeteria, and custodial services

Dr. Aimee Jokerst is the Director of Logan Health Centers. She graduated from Logan University with a BS in Human Biology in 1995 and became a Doctor of Chiropractic at Logan in 1997.

Dr. Allison Harvey earned a BS in Kinesiology from Illinois State University in 2001 and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic’s DC program in 2006. Dr. Harvey’s goal is to have every patient experience his or her optimal health. She strives to educate the patient on what is causing their pain and then form a plan on how they can help and what they can do to be proactive in their health.

Amber Henry, EdD serves as Logan’s Director of Continuing Education. In this role, Dr. Henry coordinates the planning, development, implementation and support of Logan’s continuing education program, including the annual Symposium. She also serves as a liaison between the University and continuing education partners, focusing on building a productive and ongoing relationship with faculty, sponsors and attendees.

Amy Grogan brings a strong foundation in student support and holistic development to her role as Success Coach. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Bradley University, where she developed a deep interest in understanding student motivation, well‑being and academic persistence.

Amy Mosman is a graduate of the Saint Louis University PA program. She has over a decade of experience in nephrology, the majority of which has been spent serving patients in an inner-city clinic in St Louis. She specializes in resistant and secondary hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and end-stage kidney disease.

Amy Pollock joined the Logan University team in September of 2016. She earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in sociology, psychology and human development and family studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Amy also earned her master’s degree in education with an emphasis in counseling from Missouri Baptist University.

Andrea D. Applegate, MSPAS, PA-C, has been a practicing PA for 15 years. She earned three undergraduate degrees in Chemistry, Biology, and Science and Christian faith from Southwest Baptist University in 2006, followed by a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Missouri State University in 2010.

Dr. Jill Pratte received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She completed a Masters of Science in Health Education Degree emphasizing Exercise Physiology & Cardiac Rehabilitation from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Jill completed her Doctorate of Health Professions Education Degree here at Logan University in 2022. She holds a state license as a Certified Athletic Trainer and a National Certification as an Athletic Trainer.

Dr. Angelita P. Howard, a native of Atlanta, GA, holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Vocal Performance from Clayton State University. She earned a Master of Science (MS) in Educational Leadership from Troy State University and Master of Arts (MA) in Teaching from Saint Leo University. She completed a doctoral degree in Education Administration from Nova Southeastern University (EdD). In addition to the scholarly training associated with her degrees, Dr. Howard has engaged in professional development related to online learning, assessment and planning, and student educational enhancement.

Dr. Anthony J. Miller is a chiropractic physician and sports medicine specialist, has dedicated over 20 years to providing comprehensive care for musculoskeletal conditions. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in human biology and his doctorate in chiropractic from Logan University. He employs various nonsurgical modalities, including hands-on manipulation and laser therapy, to offer long-term relief for orthopedic injuries and conditions. Dr. Miller is also an independent medical examiner and a respected educator, currently serving as an associate professor at Logan University, where he teaches spinal and extremity assessment, manipulation technique, and orthopedic condition management. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Miller provides consultation for athletes and sports teams on nutrition, supplementation, and training programs, drawing on his own experiences as a former competitive bodybuilder and athlete in soccer and baseball. He has worked with numerous professional, collegiate, and high school sports teams, further solidifying his expertise in sports medicine and chiropractic care.

Hello! My name is Arifa (Ari) Klokic, and I am Assistant Director of Admissions! I work with students by answering questions they may have and assisting them through the admissions process. Before my start at Logan, I was in service in the College Advising Corps, an AmeriCorps organization, helping high school students achieve their post-secondary goals. Working on the other side of things at Logan has been enjoyable! My favorite part about Logan is the sense of community and lifelong learning that occurs. Outside of Logan, you can catch me exploring brunch spots around Saint Louis and reading books. I look forward to working with you!

Ashley McCool, DC (’21), MS (’24) is the Director of the Pediatric Clinic at Logan University’s Montgomery Health Center, specializing in pediatric and perinatal care. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation of chiropractic physicians, blending clinical instruction with empathy, professionalism and a dedication to Logan’s mission of preparing leaders in healthcare. A proud Logan alumna, Dr. McCool earned her bachelor’s degree, Doctor of Chiropractic degree and master’s in chiropractic pediatrics degree from Logan. Her advanced training equips her with specialized knowledge to support the unique needs of children and families. Dr. McCool is an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and the Pediatric Experience network, reflecting her commitment to advancing the field of chiropractic pediatrics.

Barron Smith, MA, joined Logan in 2021 as the Director of Facilities. With an associate’s degree in HVAC from Vatterott College, a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication and a master’s degree in Training and Development (Communication) from Lindenwood University, Barron brings more than 28 years of experience in HVAC and stationary engineering, along with seven years of health care engineering experience, to his role.

Dr. Steele is currently in private practice at Premier Rehab in the greater St. Louis area. He began his career creating and implementing rehabilitation programs for members of the St. Louis Cardinals, Rams, and Blues. Dr. Steele currently lectures extensively on evidence-based treatment of musculoskeletal disorders for the University of Bridgeport’s diplomate in orthopedics program. He serves on the executive board of the Illinois Chiropractic Society. He is a Diplomate and Fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists (FACO) and a member of the NCMIC speaker’s bureau. Dr. Steele is also the co-founder of ChiroUp.com, a resource used around the world by practicing chiropractors and colleges.

Dr. Brian Snyder has more than 40 years of experience as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Graduating from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1983, Dr. Snyder has maintained private practice in Missouri since that time. In addition, Dr. Snyder continues his academic teachings as a professor at Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri and serves as the Department Chair for the College of Chiropractic Technique and Rehabilitation.

Brianna received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. She completed her Master of Education with an emphasis in Positive Coaching and Athletic Leadership from the University of Missouri, where she also worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Track & Field and Cross-Country programs. Brianna joined Logan University in 2021 as the Health Professions Education Resident and graduated with her Doctor of Education in Health Professions Education from Logan in 2023. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association. Prior to joining Logan University, Brianna worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer in various settings, including collegiate, high school, and a physical therapy clinic. She currently resides in Sycamore, Illinois with her husband and enjoys running, reading, baking, and spending time outdoors.

Hello! My name is Cathy Sippel, and I am the Associate Director of Admissions at Logan University. I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree and began my journey at Logan in 2015 as an Admissions Coordinator. From day one, my focus has been enhancing the student experience, delivering exceptional customer service, and collaborating with my team to achieve enrollment goals. Currently, I serve as the team leader for the College of Chiropractic Admissions Coordinators.

Dr. Gilbert resides in Atlanta, Georgia, and has more than 20 years of educational experience ranging from K-8, undergraduate, and graduate-level teaching. Since she is a teacher at heart, her primary research interests have included employee training and development as well as strategies designed to enhance teacher preparation programs and areas of curriculum and social and emotional strategies for at-risk youth.

Cheryl Maestas joined Logan University in 2010 as a Secretary/Library Assistant at the university library. In 2018, she expanded her role to become the Administrative Assistant for the Dean of the College of Chiropractic and Dean of Student Affairs; in 2019, transitioning to the Administrative Assistant for the Vice President of Innovation and Research.

Dr. Chris Fahs has a background in exercise physiology. He earned his BS in Exercise Science from the University of Scranton. At the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, he completed his MS in Kinesiology in the Exercise and Cardiovascular Research Laboratory. He continued as lab coordinator of the ECRL after completion of his MS working in collaboration with the Illinois Fire Service Institute studying the effects of live firefighting on cardiovascular function. His PhD is in exercise physiology which he completed at the University of Oklahoma in the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory. He is an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). His primary interests are in the acute and chronic effects of resistance training. He has over 70 peer-reviewed publications mostly related to resistance training including topics such as blood flow restricted training and velocity-based training.

I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in health sciences specializing in public health. I earned a Master of Business Administration/ Healthcare Administration degree, a Doctor of Business Administration/ Project Management degree, and a second doctorate degree in Public Health/ Epidemiology. I am a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, the National Society for Leadership and Success (Alpha Sigma Pi), and the Project Management Institute. I have held several leadership positions in retail, project management, non-profit, merchant, and financial services. I have worked as a district manager managing 36 stores in the eastern part of Atlanta, GA. I also worked as a healthcare case manager in a joint federal operation with the White House, FEMA, FBI, the Office of Refugee Resettlement, and the Department of Health and Human Services. I have served as a business and healthcare professor for over six universities across the United States where I also design curricula and currently manage the public health track and teach public health classes in one.

Dr. Connye Kuratko holds MS and PhD degrees from Texas Tech University with major study in Human Nutrition. She is also a Registered Dietitian with an undergraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics. Her early professional experience included both clinical dietetics and the management of public health programs in Texas. She served eight years as Assistant and Associate Professor of Pathology at Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock, TX where she taught medical students and allied health students topics in nutrition, pathology, and disease prevention. The primary focus of her research included fatty acid modulation of colon carcinogenesis and gut immunology. Others areas of research included medical curriculum design and evaluation, as well as evaluation of public health programs. More recently, Dr. Kuratko was Principal Scientist and Senior Manager of Medical Affairs with Martek Biosciences, Inc. (a producer and marketer of algal-derived fatty acids in Columbia, MD). She currently maintains an independent consulting practice which includes college teaching and nutrition research support for food companies and trade organizations.

Courtney Sumners, MS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor in the Physician Assistant Studies Program at Logan University. With more than a decade of experience in healthcare, she has held a wide range of clinical roles—from phlebotomist to medical scribe—before earning her credentials as a Physician Assistant.

Dr. Wildes brings more than 15 years of expertise in human performance optimization within sports medicine, athletic training, sports physiology, strength and conditioning, integrative osteopathic wellness, and psychophysiology.

Cynthia brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education, which began at Logan University as associate director of admissions in 1999. Cynthia spent 12 years at Logan before joining Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. For the past 11 years, Cynthia has served as director of online recruitment and executive director of undergraduate admissions. “I’m thrilled to return to Logan in a new capacity – alumni relations – and look forward to the opportunity to engage with our alumni from the College of Chiropractic and College of Health Sciences,” she said.

Dr. Dana Underkofler-Mercer serves as Professor and Director of Strategic Partnerships for the College of Chiropractic at Logan University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, a Doctor of Chiropractic degree (1998), and a Master’s in Sports Science and Rehabilitation (2010) from Logan University. A certified Medical Laser Safety Officer, Dr. Mercer has lectured extensively on laser safety and clinical applications, presenting at Walter Reed Medical Center, Shanghai University, the University of Memphis, AFIDE in Havana, Cuba, and various postgraduate seminars and community organizations.

Dana Wehrli serves as the Associate Dean of Student Success, providing leadership and oversight for initiatives that support student persistence, academic achievement, and successful post‑graduation outcomes. In this role, Dana collaborates closely with academic and student affairs partners to ensure students are supported across key transition points within their academic and professional journeys.

Dr. Daniel W. Haun graduated summa cum laude from Logan. He completed a three-year residency in diagnostic imaging and a two-year fellowship in advanced imaging at Logan. He received his diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology in 2008.

Dr. Daryl Ridgeway graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1997 and also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Southern Illinois University in 1993. He has taught Diversified Technique, Orthopedics, Spinal Anatomy, Advanced Soft Tissue Methods and the Styles of Jazz course, along with several other courses since beginning his teaching career in 1997. Additionally, he is a regular speaker in the Slice of Logan program and sits on the NBCE Part II Practices Committee, which oversees content on the Part II Board exam.

David Peterson, MS, MA has been with Logan University as a data analyst in the Strategic Performance department since 2022. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Missouri and his master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and degree in Cyber Security from Webster University. David previously worked as a client database and technology administrator at FamilyForward.

David R. Harris, M.Ed. brings more than three decades of experience in teaching, leadership and curriculum development to his role as adjunct instructor for History 201: Modern American History. From 1991 to 2026, he served the Mechanicsburg Area School District as a Social Studies Teacher, Department Chair, and ultimately high school principal, shaping academic programs and supporting student success across multiple levels.

Dawn Malone spent the last six years as the Associate Director of Athletic Performance at the University of Missouri. Her primary role was to designs and implement the strength and conditioning program for the women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and the men’s and women’s diving. Previously, she has spent time with direct oversite of the women’s tennis, men’s and women’s throws programs while also providing assistance with the remaining Olympic sport teams.

Dr. Deborah Marcello is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and online faculty member in the Master of Nutrition and Human Performance program at Logan University, where she has been teaching since 2018. She currently serves as adjunct faculty instructor for the Nutrition Capstone course and has previously taught courses including Nutritional Science, Nutrition in Pain and Inflammation, and the Nutrition Internship.

As a library assistant, Emily Vollmar provides circulation desk support, assistance with checking out materials and placing holds, and processes interlibrary loans and electronic resource lending. Emily also troubleshoots library and equipment issues and assists with 3D print operations.

Eric McMahon is the Coaching and Sport Science Program Manager at the NSCA Headquarters in Colorado Springs. He joined the NSCA Staff in 2020 with over 15-years of coaching experience, including roles with the Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, and the MLB Europe Programs. McMahon has spoken both in the U.S. and internationally on strength and conditioning topics, including on the use of “Velocity Based Training” and technology to guide and monitor the training process. From 2009-19, McMahon was a Strength and Conditioning Coach in the Texas Rangers Organization. He served as the Assistant Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator from 2016-17, and was promoted to Major League Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2018-19.

Dr. Warrick earned his PhD in Microbiology from Purdue University, a Master of Science in Microbiology from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Genetics from Purdue University. He also has ten years of experience teaching microbiology.
