Logan University’s PA Program Earns Accreditation-Provisional Status

Logan University’s Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant (PA) program has been granted Accreditation-Provisional status by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).

Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet ARC-PA standards, or when a program holding Accreditation-Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.

“Receiving Accreditation-Provisional from the ARC-PA is the exciting result of years of dedicated support from the board and the Logan administration in building our program,” said Andrea D. Applegate, MSPAS, PA-C, DFAAPA, Interim PA Program Director and Associate Professor at Logan. “The countless hours our faculty and staff have put in demonstrate their deep commitment to the success of this accreditation process and PA education. This achievement is just the beginning of our journey to train compassionate providers who will help broaden access to quality healthcare across Missouri and beyond.”

Logan is preparing to welcome the inaugural cohort of PA students in January 2027. Logan PA students will spend their first year in didactic education and training on campus in Chesterfield, MO, followed by one year of clinical rotations.

Logan’s PA program is 24 months in length and is based on ARC-PA Standards to ensure graduates meet the requirements to practice as competent, compassionate PAs.

Logan’s PA program is committed to educating future PAs who practice evidence-based medicine, exhibit cultural sensitivity, demonstrate effective leadership qualities, and deliver patient-centered care. The program fosters a collaborative, interdisciplinary learning environment where students engage with expert faculty, modern state-of-the-art facilities, and a broad network of clinical partners.
