Logan Health Center in St. Louis Now Open

Logan University’s newest Health Center, located in the Stephen A. Orthwein Center at Paraquad, is officially open and accepting patients. Located at 5200 Berthold Ave. in St. Louis, the Health Center is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

The new, full-service Health Center will allow Logan clinicians and student doctors to expand this patient-centered care for individuals of all ages and abilities in the St. Louis community. Open to the public, the Logan Health Center within the Stephen A. Orthwein Center at Paraquad will offer affordable, quality, health care following a $10 flat fee model. Services available include chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, pediatric chiropractic, nutritional counseling and more; care will be led by Patricia Estrada, DC.

“We are so excited to expand our partnerships with Paraquad and Washington University by offering more services to the Orthwein Center’s patients and the surrounding St. Louis community, including outreach opportunities to the local Hispanic community,” said Dana Mercer, DC, MS, professor and director of strategic partnerships, who will facilitate integrative internship rotations for Logan DC students. “Under the direction of Dr. Estrada and myself, our students will participate in hands-on experiences in a variety of complex patient encounters. They will have administrative, inter-professional, educational and community rotations to ensure confidence when starting their own practice.”

Serving as teaching sites, the Logan Health Centers provide structured and unique clinical education opportunities for Logan University students, permitting them to provide care under the direct supervision of licensed and experienced clinicians. This new Health Center will do just that, and it will also allow students and clinicians the opportunity to learn from other health care experts providing services in the Stephen A. Orthwein Center, including specialists from the Washington University Occupational Health and Mobility Center.
