Sample PaleoBars Outside the Bookstore - June 18th

Angela Sykora, a regional Health Educator for Designs for Health will be outside the bookstore providing PaleoBar samples to students on Wednesday, June 18th from 11:00am to 1:00pm
Designs for Health is a professional-only line of nutritional products, and the Paleobars are part of their "Paleo" line of products. Designs for Health is committed to delivering science first, high quality nutritional supplements, educating health care practitioners as to their optimal therapeutic use, and providing practice development solutions to continually support health care practitioners. 
In addition to the Paleobar samples, Angela will have information available to learn more about the products and services available through Designs for Health.

Paddling for Paraquad Fundraiser

UPDATE: The race has been postponed to August 12th due to flooded river conditions and debris along the route. Donations for the cause can still be made leading up to the new scheduled start time.


Dr. Barry Wiese, Logan University's executive clinical business director, is participating in the Missouri American Water MR340 Race on July 8th. This 340-mile, nonstop race will take place on the Missouri River from Kansas City to St. Charles and will raise money for Paraquad.

The race begins on Tuesday, July 8th at 7:00am. Dr. Wiese expects to complete the race Thursday, July 10th between 6:00pm and midnight, depending on weather, water conditions, etc.

Participants Requested for Body Composition Research Study

UPDATE: Due to the incredible turnout for the study, three additional dates have been added - June 23rd, June 25th and June 27th. The times for these new dates will be 6:00am to 12:00pm. Thank you to all of the participants!


Individuals ages 18-50 are invited to participate in a research study that will compare body composition measurements between the Biospace InBody 720 and the field’s “Gold Standard”, DEXA for the population of active and sedentary individuals. The study will be conducted at Logan University in Radiology during June 16th, 18th20th, 23rd, 25th and 27th from 6:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Subjects will be participating in two different types of body composition measurements including the Biospace InBody 720 and DEXA. The study protocol will consist of:

(1) Scanning of the participant on the DEXA machine, which will take approximately six
and a half to twelve minutes
(2) Measurement of the participant on the Biospace InBody 720, which will take
approximately two minutes

NOTE: Participants will complete a 12-hour fast, will be instructed to avoid exercise for a minimum for 36 hours before testing, refrain from alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours and must be properly hydrated by consuming half your body weight in ounces of water (body weight/2).

City of Chesterfield 4th of July Fireworks Celebration

Join the City of Chesterfield for their 9th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration on Friday, July 4th at 7:00pm. The fireworks display is free and is one of the largest in the metro area.

The main viewing area will be on the parking lot at the Chesterfield Mall.

There will be food trucks, food vendors, free entertainment and a Kids Zone which features inflatables, clowns and a stilt walker.

Bring your own lawn chairs. No glass bottles are allowed.

Tree Planting and Removal at Logan

Due to a harsh winter, Logan has been forced to remove several trees around campus. Logan's policy regarding tree removal is to plant one new tree for each tree that is removed. In the coming weeks, 12 new trees will be planted around campus. These will include 6 Red Oak trees, 3 White Oak trees and 3 Japanese Zelkova trees.

Study Skills Workshops - Summer 2014

The Office of Student Services will sponsor a series of Study Skills Workshops in the Distance Learning Room inside the LRC. Each session will begin at 11:00am and end at 11:30am.
