Long Wang, PhD, MD, RDN, FAND
Dr. Long Wang received two medical degrees from Hebei Medical University in China. After earning his PhD in nutrition from Purdue University, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar at University of California, Davis Medical Center. Dr. Wang taught at Syracuse University and New York Chiropractic College. Currently he is a full-time faculty at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). His teaching portfolio includes nutrition subjects such as introductory nutrition, advanced nutrition, nutritional biochemistry, metabolism. vitamins and minerals, nutrition assessment, and medical nutrition therapy. In Spring 2018, Dr. Wang co-taught an interdisciplinary course with a gerontology faculty at CSULB titled Women and Aging, Lessons from the Golden Girls, which is based on the hit TV series the Golden Girls.
Dr. Wang is a registered dietitian/nutritionist and and a Fellow of Academy of Nutrition Dietetics (FAND). He served as Chair of the Chinese Americans in Nutrition and Dietetics. He has been a Program Reviewer for the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) since 2013. He is a member of the Board of Directors of ACEND.
Dr. Wang enjoys tea, swimming, plants, history, and travel- he strives to visit at least one different country every year.
