Julie Kapp, MPH, PhD
Julie Kapp holds a master’s (MPH) and doctoral degree (PhD) in public health, concentrated in epidemiology from Saint Louis University. Her undergraduate degrees from the University of Missouri in Columbia are in psychology (BA) and sociology (BA). Dr. Kapp’s research spans the fields of epidemiology, public health, health promotion, and disease prevention. Her focus across all of these fields is bridged by her interests related to a balanced quality and quantity of life, and the pursuit of effective, evidence-based strategies toward this end. Her recent disease-specific focus has included breast cancer, obesity, and diabetes.
In 2014, she was selected into the highly competitive Malcolm Baldrige Executive Fellows Program (2014-2015) as one of 14 Fellows nationally. Her practitioner work includes eight years in the Guard/Reserves, the majority of which were as a Public Health Officer in a medical group. She has been in higher education since 2005.
