Melinda Wilkins, PhD, RHIA, FAHIMA
Dr. Melinda Wilkins has taught at a collegiate level for over 25 years. Her area of interest lies in health informatics and health information management. Change management in the implementation of electronic health records is of particular research interest. Dr. Wilkins has a PhD in Organization and Management with a specialization in Information Technology from Capella University. She holds a Master’s of Education in the area of Agency Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Record Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Dr. Wilkins has served as a consultant for Arkansas’ health information exchange efforts and is a recent Triumph Award winner in Leadership from the American Health Information Management Association. On a personal note, Dr. Wilkins grew up in the panhandle of Texas and has a goal of living on the beach in Florida! She loves running and reading…and teaching!
