Claudia Kelley, PhD, MPH, MS, RD, RN, CDE
Adjunct Instructor Nutrition and Human Performance
Dr. Claudia Kelley received her B.S. and M.S. in Ecotrophology (Public Health Nutrition) from Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms University, as well as a second M.S degree in Nutritional Science from California State University, Los Angeles, and earned her Doctorate in Nutrition from the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms University. Furthermore, she is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), a Registered Nurse (RN), a Certified Childcare Specialist, and a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) with more than 20 years of clinical and teaching experience.
Dr. Kelley practiced as RDN, CDE, CNSD(C), CCS at several renowned teaching hospitals, including St. Luke National Medical – USC in Pasadena, City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, USC Norris Cancer Hospital in Los Angeles, and Providence Holy Cross in Mission Hills before joining Logan University. Additionally, she taught Clinical Nutrition courses at SCU for Health Sciences and at Cal State LA’s Nutritional Science program, where she designed and taught the ‘Integrative Nutrition Certificate’ program. Her primary areas of research include complementary and functional nutrition approaches for disease prevention and intervention, as well as human performance improvement. Dr. Kelley currently works in private practice, serves as healthcare, research and technical consultant for a variety of organizations, but most of all enjoys sharing her knowledge by teaching students and future healthcare professionals about all aspects of applied health and nutrition science according to evidence-based practice.
In her free time, Dr. Kelley enjoys hiking with her 3 dogs, and volunteers for Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc.
