Symposium on Women’s Health
Hosted by Logan University, in conjunction with the American Chiropractic Association Council on Women’s Health, this two-day symposium (in-person, on the campus of Logan University) will feature dynamic speakers and hands-on learning opportunities. Among the topics covered in this year’s symposium will be the detection and management of spinal and skeletal osteoporosis, which is more prevalent in women than in men. The interpretation of DEXA Scans will be included, and for those attendees who desire, the opportunity to have a scan performed on themselves will be offered. Other topics covered will be the conditions of Ehler-Danlos and Hyper-flexibility Syndromes that may cause practicing chiropractor to modify the adjustments to these types of delicate spine conditions. To help attendees sharpen their adjusting skills in the care of women with these conditions, (to include osteoporosis) this symposium will offer hands-on practice to modify the forces used, in the Logan University adjusting simulation lab.
