Logan’s Adapted Sports and Programs department provides certification courses geared toward preparing the next generation of adapted sports coaches, athletes, and leaders.
This course serves as an introduction to adapted sports. The course objectives are to provide participants with (a) disability Awareness, (b) basic training principles for a person with a disability, (c) basic traditional and nontraditional bench press and training concepts, and (d) overall health and fitness awareness for individuals with disabilities. Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

This course serves as a follow-up to the General Adapted Powerlifting Level I Certification. This course is for individuals looking to gain a deeper understanding of disability sports and concepts. The course objectives are to provide participants with (a) the basic tools needed to develop training progressions for individuals with disabilities and (b) an understanding of the industry’s Do’s and Don’ts.
This course provides individuals with the study text, and an exam will be administered via the appropriate learning management platform (LMS) upon successful completion. Participants will receive a certificate of completion after successfully passing the exam with a 90% or higher.

This course serves as an introduction to program design in the adapted sport setting. The course objective is to provide participants with hands-on experience creating training programs for individuals with disabilities. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the course.

This course serves as a follow-up to the Adapted Powerlifting Coaches Level 2 Certification. The course objective is to provide participants with (a) hands-on experience in adapting traditional training facilities equipment to meet the unique needs of the adapted athlete.

Designed for professionals and individuals interested in expanding their knowledge in the adapted sports space, this week’s seminar combines the Level I, II, and III courses through practical application. This intensive hands-on seminar focuses on understanding various physical disabilities and how to apply specific forces (in a safe way) to each individual structure. Participants will walk away with an understanding that “one size does not fit all.” Participants will also walk away proficient in equipment adaptations during training, leisure, and competition.
