COVID-19 has been a game-changer for all of us. At Logan, we made difficult but necessary decisions to close our physical campus, cancel our in-person spring commencement, our spring symposium and all other on-campus activities. What we have not changed is our unwavering commitment to our students. As an institution of higher learning, our hearts are with our students who are in the process of earning a degree or looking forward to walking across that stage to receive their hard-earned diploma.

Now more than ever, our students need the collective support of the chiropractic and health sciences community. Can you take a few minutes to let our students know how much we all care and offer hope, perspective and support? Simply leave a message on this page for Logan students. Your words of encouragement will provide much-needed inspiration for our hard-working students. Thank you for being an important part of the Logan Community!

In these uncertain times, the support of our Logan alumni and friends is vital to the ongoing success of our students. Your generosity will make a direct impact on their experience.

  12. In times of uncertainty and a health crisis, it is reassuring that the public and governmental regulatory bodies view us as essential. The care that Chiropractors provide to our patients is vital to their health, and is critical to the infrastructure of our health care system. So although these times of distant learning may be concerning and difficult, know that what you are working towards will be worth it 100 times over for you and your community.

  13. Hello Logan Students!
I am amazed at the stories of courage that I get from people from all walks of life across our great nation (and around the globe)! I am proud of the resilience and positive attitude that shines within the Logan Community! As this pandemic creates a difficult and sad time for everyone, people still have the desire to help others, especially those in healthcare-that is why we are here. This is a time where opportunities do exist for us to call a neighbor to check on them, to contact organizations like idealist.org to be a virtual volunteer. BeMyEyes app can connect those that are blind or with poor vision with someone will strong vision through video to help them read a recipe, the news, a story – just to connect with others. The connections through communications are so important right now.

Please stay safe and well, make connections and communicate with others, and let us know if we can help in any way! We care about you all!

  14. Well done Doctors!
Virtually studying, learning and even seeing patients will be a new norm, I believe. Although, the Doctor of Chiropractic will keep adjusting the spine so that healing can take place from above, down, inside, out!
With faith, hope and love we will all get through this time of uncertainty!

  15. I can’t imagine being a student right now, but if life has taught me anything, it’s that how we persevere through the downs that make us who we are. Here’s to coming out stronger on the other side.

  16. Hi Everyone, I’m a 1958 graduate of Logan Chiropractic College as well as an ex-Roman Catholic priest and a retired Pastoral Psychotherapist. I am 82 years young, in quite good health and sane of mine as well. I’ll not bore you with a long note of support and encouragement, so I’ll just say the following. As scientists and clinicians, we are educated and trained to “know” and to “help.” As we live through this Covid-19 situation, we are faced with the “unknown” and feel “helpless.” Of course, a lot of life confronts us with the unknown and helplessness which takes some form of surrender, perhaps only temporary, but conscious and sensible surrender nonetheless. I have overcome numerous obstacles in my life and professional work and, yet, here I am 82 years later. This is a time of courage which exists and acts ONLY in the face of fear. So honor your fear(s) and act with sensible courage and you will reach 82 with life. I am so honored and proud to have been a Doctor of Chiropractic and I wish you well in your vocation to help others — as you help yourselves. Bob Popovich. p.s. Sorry, this was longer than I wished.

  17. Dear Logan Students- please know that you are still walking into the greatest career and service work there is. I graduated in 1980 and have had 40 glorious years of practice in the Boston area and now on Cape Cod. My best inner question I ask daily is “what will really matter 5 or 10 years from now?” “Will it really matter what is happening today?” My answer always brings me peace- family, love, spirit, my relationships, my health, chiropractic- Many changes and shifts in chiropractic over the years that seemed so stressful are long forgotten now- I left Logan at 22 years old and I have such gratitude for all the gifts I received at Logan and I hope these times can be looked back on as a blip in the screen of a wonderful life. All my best to you in your journey and career- with much support and hope, Kevin Lowey

  18. Please know that you are being thought about during these difficult times. The chiropractic program is a challenging endeavor but worth every minute once you graduate. Remember to stay positive, work hard, and make it happen. If you don’t sacrifice for what you want, what you want will become the sacrifice. Don’t ever give up.

  19. Hi guys! I hope you are all healthy and doing well. I am writing this from my office in between taking care of patients and have a pretty full afternoon ahead of me. I remember my days at Logan College as some of the best I have ever had, learning so much and making friendships with people from all over the US and abroad. I am sure some of you are disappointed in the disruption in classes and graduation, school functions and more. I can assure you that although graduation and school functions are amazing, what’s more amazing is what comes after graduation, and what you will remember most about your time at Logan are the friendships and the great education your received. Both with serve you well moving forward. During this time I would say, don’t shrink from your desire to help others and bring your skills of delivering 21st century chiropractic to the masses, but instead double down on it! As we push through this situation, people are going to need us more than ever. As a chiropractic neurologist and getting ready to sit for the DABCI and Clinical Board of Nutrition later this year, I say people already are or are going to be more in fight or flight than ever. Chiropractic adjustments and chiropractic based therapies are best suited to regulating the autonomic nervous system which is constantly under attack physically, chemically and emotionally (especially now). Couple the adjustments and therapy that with sound nutrition and exercise, we have so much more to offer than ANY other profession in helping these people regain and maintain their health, hands down!! Who else has anything close to offer??? So take the extra time off to read more, expand your knowledge, love more on your family and friends, stay positive and don’t get pulled into fight or flight and the eventual apathy that always follows. Be vigilant of your own thoughts and emotions. You are in control, and the people around you who are unaware of all that you know, and how the current events are impacting them in ways they may not fully understand, need you and your expertise more than ever. Feel free to reach out any time drsteve@orlandochiropracticrehab.com

  20. Logan students,
This has been an excellent opportunity for us to come together as a community. I can assure you no successful chiropractic career comes without challenges. This is just another bump in the road. We as a faculty are here for you and will help you succeed. Stay focused on what you can do next to keep moving forward. This will be a distant memory very soon and we will be stronger from it as a Logan community.
    Take Care,
    Dr Miller

  21. Dear Logan Students,

I hope this letter finds you well. I know this is a strange time in life. I wanted to take this time to let you know you are in the process of joining a great and rewarding career. I know this is a stressful time in many people’s lives. But successful people and businesses have made it out of times like this. Proctor and Gamble, Microsoft, and half of the current Fortune 500 companies all started during times of great economic decline. We cannot control the pandemic or the current situation, as much as myself and I’m sure you as well want to have some form of control. What we can control is our ability to communicate amongst your peers and family, and knowing that we will make it out some day soon.
I’ll end this note with one of my favorite quotes from the last great emperor Marcus Aurelius:

Our actions may be impended…but there can be no impeding our intentions or dispositions. Because we can accommodate and adapt. The mind adapts and converts to its own purposes the obstacle to our acting. The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.

  22. These are historic times. Pay attention. These events are an amazing addition to your education. Be safe. Take care of your patients. Care for your friends and family. We can all learn from this and become better practitioners.

  23. This too shall pass! Online learning is amazing. I have been taking online courses for a few months in Healthcare Administration. It is much less stressful than being at school. I hope it is the same your Logan students! Take this time to focus on school, family, and yourself. If you have trouble with school, contact your instructor and keep informed. You can do this!!
    Yours in Chiropractic,
    Dr. Carissa Hamilton-Toups, DC
    August 1999 Graduate

  24. Future chiropractors and collogues,

this is a very weird and difficult time in our lives to say the least. Not only as chiropractors but life in general we will always be challenged with adversity. Our profession is an uphill battle already with trying to educate patients on how we can help heal the body, fighting the allopathic model to name a few. But with all these challenges strength and character is built to withstand the storm. Keep you heads up, keep grinding and we will all come out of this strong than ever with god by our side. We are on the front line not just now but always!

    Dr. Mike Reed
    Waukegan, IL

  25. Hey spring class of 2020!
I wish we were celebrating all together but we are still celebrating all of your hard work and dedication.
So Congratulations! Congrats on achieving your goal and a job well done.
Good luck in all of your the rest of your life’s adventures and hope to see some of you in the Fall!

  27. Congratulations to the 2020 Logan University graduating classes in the College of Health Sciences and the College of Chiropractic. The Buddha is quoted as saying, “A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.” Thus, happiness is an inside job. May your LU education serve you well in creating a life you only once dreamed of having. Time to celebrate!

  28. Still practicing! There are people that still need your help. Keep your overhead low, make sure you focus on your adjusting skills, be grateful, be humbled, and help your community any way you can. You are joining one of the greatest professions.

    Respectively

    Steven W Carter, DC

  29. Congratulations! I wish nothing but the best for each and everyone one of you!

  30. You pulled it all together and accomplished great things especially through these tough times! Congratulations to each one of you, be proud as you step out into the world!

  31. Congratulations on such an amazing accomplishment. Not all hiccups in life, come to disrupt, some come to clear a path for great opportunities.

  32. Congratulations to everyone, we are so very proud of you! We are all one big family and know that we will always be here for you! Remember to continue studying, your tests will be with your patients Wishing health and happiness to you, Class of April 2020!!

  33. This isn’t the end of your story — go out in the world and make a difference. You’ve got this!

  34. To the amazing students of Logan University. During these rough times where we’re surrounded by uncertainty which drives up our fear, know this: in every storm, the raindrops are numbered and the wind is finite. The storm will pass and when it does, we’ll all have the opportunity to come together, lend a helping hand to those who were knocked down, and pick up the pieces to rebuild a better future than our past was. And with storms of this magnitude, there’s always an incredible rainbow that would otherwise not have been possible.

From the bottom of my heart, and from the entire team at ChiroPro, we wish you these words of encouragement. I sincerely hope that you know that you have chosen a profession that has a history of weathering storms and coming out much stronger than before. Your profession is filled with opportunities and lead by people who have a true passion for the Chiropractic Purpose. I am available should any of you need to chat.

    With love from,

    Dr. and Mrs. Rob Rice

  35. YOU are the future of this profession. That is not a responsibility to be taken lightly. While this setback may seem harsh, it is a mere speed bump on your journey. Try to look past it, the best you can, and go save the world, one adjustment at a time!

  36. Congratulations Class of April 2020. I know this is not how you envisioned this day to be- but it doesn’t take away from your accomplishments. Be proud of yourselves, we are proud of you. I will miss you and cannot wait to hear about all of your success in the future!! Keep in touch!

  37. Keep going, Logan students! The world needs your passion, skills, and expertise!

  38. To the class of Spring 2020, Congratulations and a job well done! While the tendency of life is to focus on the negatives and the “could have beens”, I want you to stop and take a minute and focus on some positives. You have just completed one of the most rigorous, difficult, training times that anyone can experience, and SUCCEEDED! You have spent the last four years of your life with a group of people that you will in many ways be closer than family. The joys the sorrows, the wins and yes, some losses, but you made it. You are now a full fledged member of the Chiropractic community. Drs. I commend you for your diligence and tenacity, and welcome you with open arms to the best healing profession any person can ask for. As a member of the Logan Board of Trustees, I personally am proud to have you as my colleagues. Blessings on you all.

  39. Congratulations to the Spring 2020 Logan graduating class! “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”– Henry David Thoreau

  40. Very thankful to see such encouraging messages from peers and professionals! Blessed that Logan has put effort to making all students and soon to be grads special. To my fellow class of April 2020, thank you soo much for taking me in as one of your own. I’ve struggled with negative thoughts that if I didn’t transfer to Logan I would be already graduated and working. I’ve come to realize that transferring didn’t hold me back, but it pushed me forward. It pushed me to learn more, to network with incredible faculty and staff, and to get out of my comfort zone. Thank you Logan! Thank you friends! Stay safe everyone!!

  41. Congratulations Logan graduates! The milestone you have reached is stronger than any obstacle that you may have gone through in the past. Your perseverance and dedication to your studies has prepared you for a world of opportunities. I know each and every one of you will make our Logan family proud!

  42. I am proud of the work that all of you are doing despite these new challenges. We are here to help you if there is anything you need.

  43. To the April 2020 graduating class: I enjoyed working with you! Hang in there, for the best is yet to come — sent with best wishes from a fellow April Logan graduate. 🙂

  44. Congratulations to the graduating class! You’ve been diligent, you’ve been tenacious, you’ve been tested – and passed! I am proud of each one of you. Now is your time to get out there and SHINE!

  45. Hang tough Logan! This is a mere hiccup in your journey. If you are close to graduating, no one can take your knowledge away or your pride in your accomplishment. The ceremony and celebration may be postponed, but it will happen! And knowing you can celebrate with ALL of your healthy friends and family when it does will make it even more special.

  46. Be proud of your resilience and ability to adapt to challenging circumstances, and know that great things often come from hard times. Be well and stay safe!

  47. Graduates in the Class of 2020:

I wish I could personally shake the hand of each of you on this, your very special day. Even though you may not be physically present at this graduation ceremony, I am sure that you are with everyone, in spirit.

In this message I could go on and on with graduation platitudes that you probably have heard many times in the past as you graduated from various levels of your education, the education of your significant others, or even the graduation of your children. I will spare you from that “experience again.”

I have had many of you in class and I sincerely hope that the principles that you gained through the readings, the discussions and the interactions with your colleagues, will remain with you as you continue your education, or move forward in your chosen profession. You may forget the specific content, and that is OK, it is the concepts that are important.

For those who have been in classes I have taught you have seen this but for those who haven’t, I hope you remember this little saying: “It is better to aim for the stars and land in the treetops than aim for the treetops and land in the mud.” Never be afraid to dream. Set your goals and put those goals on paper where you can see them on a daily basis for a dream not written down, is simply a wish. I am sure that you wondered when this day would ever arrive, but here it is! For some this may be what you did dream, for others this dream of today’s graduation is a jumping off point for bigger and greater (note that I didn’t say better, since graduation from a prestigious institution such as Logan is a great accomplishment) things. Make up your mind, work hard, and you will reach those dreams.

You have a great gift; the gift of being an educated individual. Think about those who encouraged you when you got “down” on yourself, a spouse, children, a parent, a friend, a colleague, or even a professor or two. All of these individuals had faith that you could “do this thing,” and in a paraphrase of the Nike slogan you “Just did it!” These people were what Joyce Landorf Heatherley would call “Balcony People.” I hope each of you will remember who “lifted you” when you were “down” and you will do the same for others, including those who lifted you.

I hope you will take the time to send a brief note back to us at Logan to keep us informed as to what you are doing. We are interested in you as an individual and as a professional. As you travel through life remember, get involved, stay involved, make a difference. You have made a difference in your lives and the lives of those with whom you interact by completing your degree program. Remember, this is a great day for you so make every day a great day for you, and for those with whom you come into contact.

I wish you the heartiest of congratulations and all the best in all your future endeavors.

    Be safe.

Larry K. Olsen, MAT, MPH, DrPH, MCHES

  48. You got this! Keep working hard and remember this is just a small bump in the road. We are here to support you!

  49. Students,

This global pandemic is forcing us to change the way we view and interact with the world. Some have undoubtedly experienced loss and tragedy. While we pray for their healing, we can reflect on what we value in our lives – God, family, friends, work, and/or school. Is what’s important to you now different than what was before COVID-19 entered your life? Change, though painful sometimes, can be good for us all. Believe in this change and know you’re not alone in coping with it. Reach out to someone else and let them know you’re thinking about them. Be a light in what some perceive are dark times. Most of all, embrace this change as ultimately something positive for our world in the long run.

  50. I was once told to “grow where you are planted, and then it doesn’t matter what life throws at you.” Well, we have definitely been thrown a curve ball by this virus, but knowing each of you I am confident that we will all come out of it stronger than when we went in! I look forward to seeing each of you again in person.

  51. Keep pushing through everyone, keep your chin up and remember that we are all here for you. We miss all of you so much and cannot wait to be together as a community again soon. Remember we are all here for whatever you need 🙂

  52. Keep up the great work! Wishing all of you the best as you come near to the end of the trimester and looking forward to having everyone back on campus!

  53. Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. ~Dr. Seuss
There are many moments that are happening now that you may not see the value in until you look back at them. You will have many interesting stories to tell those that follow you so tuck them all away in a special place that you can pull from later.

  54. I miss you so much! I am so proud of how well you are handling these obstacles. Stay strong Logan students!!

  55. Adversity will be confronted throughout the steps it takes to attain the goals we wish to achieve. It is how you respond to this adversity that will determine if and when you reach your desired destination. This holds true to many aspects of life, including chiropractic practice. Take this time to reaffirm your commitment to the direction you have chosen to take as future chiropractors. People will need your help more than ever when it is time for you to serve your community through chiropractic care.

  56. You are doing outstanding withstanding the storm, remember the storm is only temporary and before you know it you will be back to sailing on clear waters. Keep up the good work and remember you have got this….after all YOU are a Logan Leopard!

  57. The energy that comes with a campus full of students is certainly missing right now, but we’re still here to support your success! Best wishes as you round out this trimester and look toward the summer! We are with you all the way!

  58. No matter the hardship created by COVID-19, I want all of our students to know that they are on my mind and that I am sending warm thoughts and hopes for good health, good spirits, and academic success to all of them. We know everyone has been touched in some way by this pandemic, and we will continue to do our best to support students emotionally and academically during ,and long after things return to normal.

  59. Keep up the hard work Logan University Students – you all are doing an amazing job. I miss seeing all of you on campus and I look forward to near future when our face-to-face learning continues. Stay strong!

  60. We are thinking of you in this trying time. Keep your sights on your original inspiration for wanting to become a DC. You are on the noble path of natural healing and will be a great force for good in the world.
This temporary hardship cannot deter you!!

  61. We are so proud of how hard you are working! This time of uncertainty will pass and you will be the stronger having fought your way through. Sending our love to everyone working on a degree at this time!

  62. Students (and Staff), even though you’ve had to go down another road due to Covid-19, there are always many ways to get to the finish line! You will be stronger and wiser for it! We are in it together – Apart. All the Best!

  63. We are all rooting for you and counting down the days until we can teach face to face again. Your professionalism and ability to ‘go with the flow’ has not gone unnoticed. Proud to be a Logan leopard!
    #leadersmade

  64. Now is a great time to be insulated in the world of academia as you study hard to become a doctor because being a portal of entry healthcare provider will be even more important in the years to come. Life is different in the short run but the possibilities for you upon graduation will be there more than ever. Keep your eyes on the long term goal! Best wishes, you can do it!

  65. Being adaptable is a wonderful trait in life, you guys are knocking it out of the park.

  66. Keep pushing! You are all doing a fantastic job working through our current challenges. I am proud of every single one of you!

  67. As someone who will be attending this school next year, I care deeply about the students and staff. Even though I’m not part of the Logan family yet, you guys are family to me. Stay safe and finish strong. Remember your goals and dreams!

  68. Wishing all students the very best and stay safe!! Ryan Gerleman, you got this buddy.

  69. I think the idea for leaving well wishes to students is a great one! Keep up the good work Logan students!
