Winners of People’s Choice Awards Announced
November 5, 2012
At a special gathering on November 1 in the Administration Building Lobby, Logan President George A. Goodman announced the winners of the People’s Choice Awards, the three top vote getters from students, faculty and staff who voted for their favorite “horse.” The winners and their prizes are:
First place: Xanthus – Trimester 1 (free lunch for their class)
Second place: The Back Stallion – Trimester 4 (free breakfast for their class)
Third place: Magis Potestas – Men’s Soccer Club (cookies and milk for their club)
A total of 16 horses, created by Joe Munsigner of Logan’s Facilities Department, were decorated by students from Logan trimester classes and clubs and are currently on display in the Administration Building Lobby. You can view the horses’ photos and biographical sketches on Logan’s website.
On Saturday, November 10, Logan is hosting its annual black tie-optional Benefactors’ Dinner gala in the William D. Purser, DC, Center Lobby. Benefactors are alumni and friends who contribute $1,000 or more annually to Logan. Each year, the college hosts a Benefactors’ Dinner event to say thank you to these special Logan donors.
This year’s theme is Logan’s Derby Night, featuring Kentucky Derby-style horse races in the Purser Center lobby, dinner, prizes for the final Logan’s Race for the Roses horses and prizes for the benefactors who “bid” on the winning horse. All 16 horses are scheduled to run at Logan’s Derby Night and compete for the big prizes for their student owners:
First place: $500
Second place: $300
Third place: $200
