Dr. Carl Saubert, vice president of academic affairs, has announced that Dr. Mary Unger-Boyd, associate professor in Logan's Chiropractic Science Division, has agreed to serve as an additional academic advisor for Logan's students. During the 2012 September trimester, Dr. Unger-Boyd will be mentored by Dr. Donald Christy, dean of advising, in the many responsibilities of the position.
In addition to Dr. Christy, Dr. Unger-Boyd joins Drs. Jay Elliott, Jason Goodman, John Gutweiler, Donna Mannello and Brian Snyder as academic advisors for students in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program. The academic advisors for students in the undergraduate program are Drs. Atanas Ignatov and Jason Goodman. Students concurrently enrolled in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program and master's degree programs are advised by Drs. Christy and Elliott. Dr. Jason Goodman also advises master's-only students.
Congratulations to Dr. Christine Schutz, Dr. Rodger Tepe and Leanne Dalton on the acceptance of their ACC-RAC 2012 award-winning paper, "Learning and Study Strategies Invenstory subtests and factors as predictors of National Board of Chiropractic Examiners Part 1 exam performance" for publication in the Journal of Chiropractic Education. This was the second ACC-RAC award and second JCE publication by Drs. Schutz and Tepe, both of whom had Logan students as co-investigators and co-authors. This continuing line of study examines the relationships between students' learning and study strategies and their performance on National Board of Chiropractic Examiners performance and grade point averages. Drs. Schutz, Tepe and Dalton are co-authors again on a ACC-RAC 2013 submissions, "A comparison of Learning and Study Strategies Inventory subtest and factor score and GPA tertiles between chiropractic students tested in Trimester 1 and Trimester7.
