President George A. Goodman, D.C., FICC, Announces Opening of New Southfield Health Center
August 18, 2011
George A. Goodman, DC, FICC, president of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, has announced that Logan will open an expanded health center at the Southfield Center Plaza in south St. Louis County on August 29, 2011. The new chiropractic health center is located at 5422 Southfield Center near Lindbergh Blvd. and Baptist Church Road.
The 6,200 square-foot facility will include a BIOFREEZE® Sports & Rehabilitation Center, the first such satellite center to be located off of Logan’s Chesterfield campus. As part of a consolidation, Logan is closing its Webster Groves chiropractic health center, 1281 S. Laclede Station Road, in the Yorkshire Plaza, and the Southroads chiropractic health center at 12494 Tesson Ferry Road in the Southroads Center, both of which are half the size of the new Southfield facility.
According to Dr. Goodman, the Southfield Health Center will feature 14 patient treatment rooms, an intake room, two laser treatment rooms, and space for X-rays, laboratory for blood draws, and a physical therapeutic area. Through its BIOFREEZE center, the Southfield facility will provide athletes of all ages with “hands-on” rehabilitation techniques and injury prevention treatment. The entire facility is wired for the use of electronic medical records.
“With the leases for our two south county health centers set to expire, it made sense on several levels to open a larger, expanded health center located roughly between the two existing facilities,” Dr. Goodman noted. “The new Southfield Health Center, with its enhanced services, will offer patients an unparalleled environment in which to receive effective chiropractic health and wellness care plus sports rehabilitative services.”
Licensed clinicians Jeffrey Kamper, DC and Patricia Estrada, DC will supervise senior Logan interns at the Southfield Health Center. A grand opening event is planned for sometime in early fall 2011.
The Southfield Health Center will be open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information or to make an appointment, call (314) 849-3800.
Northstar Management Company served as the owner’s representative on Logan’s Southfield health center project. The project director and principal architect in charge was Curtis W. Cassel, AIA, of TR,i Architects and the general contractor was ICS Construction.
