In 2011, Dr. Wasdin co-authored the New York Times best-selling book entitled, “SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy Seal Sniper.” In the book, Dr. Wasdin provides an inside look at SEAL training, what it takes to become one of America’s top warriors and what it means to be one. He also recounts his experiences as a member of SEAL Team Six in Operation Desert Storm and Somalia. He was awarded a Silver Star for his involvement in the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993, where he was seriously injured. This battle was the subject of Mark Bowden’s best-selling book, “Black Hawk Down,” and director Ridley Scott’s subsequent movie by the same name.
