Logan's Southfield Health Center Now Offering Acupuncture
April 30, 2013
Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs President has announced its Southfield Health Center is now providing acupuncture services to its patients. Southfield Health Center is located at 5422 Southfield Center, just south of Baptist Church Road off Lindbergh Boulevard.
Chiropractic and acupuncture complement each other as both emphasize a natural approach to health care and wellness by optimizing nerve function and energy balance to allow the body to maximize its health potential. Acupuncture can assist with a variety of health conditions and concerns including headaches, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, carpel tunnel, low back pain and more. It is a therapy that originated in ancient China thousands of years ago and is based on the belief that all illnesses result from an interference with the flow of energy, also known as Qi (pronounced “chi”). Acupuncture utilizes hair-thin metal needles at specific points on the body that unblock the chi through channels known as meridians and restore balance. There are more than 300 acupuncture points on the skin to treat over 2,000 conditions. As one of the oldest healing arts, acupuncture can be an independent therapy or work in conjunction with other health care therapies such as chiropractic.
Logan clinicians are licensed Doctors of Chiropractic and are nationally board certified in acupuncture care. Logan interns have received extra training and course work and have passed the certification examination, including clean needle technique training. Logan offers a holistic approach to health care combining chiropractic, acupuncture, nutrition and custom exercise regimens. Logan’s 6,200 square-foot Southfield Health Center features 14 patient treatment rooms, an intake room, two laser treatment rooms, and space for X-rays to provide effective chiropractic health and wellness care.
Logan operates three other fee-service health centers in Chesterfield and St. Charles County.
