Logan Student Scholarship Award Recipients Announced

A special awards presentation was held on Tuesday, February 21, in the lobby of the William D. Purser, DC Center to announce the winners of a number of student scholarships. The individual scholarships were provided by donors who set the criteria, in conjunction with representatives of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, for selection of deserving recipients.

The recipients and the individual scholarships included: Drs. Arthur & Violet M. Nickson Memorial Scholarship ($500 award) – Tyler Reichert; Dr. Lee Juhan Memorial Scholarship ($500 award) – Kevin Storm; Beatrice B. Hagen, D.C. Scholarship ($500 award) – Leah S. Owens; Dr. Eugene Mikus Scholarship ($2,000 award) – Todd J. Sonquist; Tracey Parmentar Memorial Scholarship ($1,000 award) – Scott Weiland; Dr. Glenn Bub Scholarship ($1,500 award) – Jonathan Emlet; Dr. Donald Christy Scholarship ($1,500) – Taylor Rafool; Dr. Roy J. Hillgartner Scholarship ($1,500 award) – Todd J. Sonquist; Dr. Lori Bents Scholarship ($500 award) – Eric M. Weisnicht; Dr. Dale Montgomery Scholarship ($1,000 award) – Elisabeth M. Pang; Lambda Kappa Chi – Kristen Blair Memorial Scholarship ($500 award) – Heather C. Hartman; The B. E. Doyle Scholarship (two $750 awards) – Lauren Stemle and Shanele Lundahl; Dr. Gordon Heuser Memorial Scholarship ($500 award) – Elisabeth M. Pang; Howard S. Grossman, DC Scholarship ($1,000 award) – Heather C. Hartman; Dr. William H. Harris Scholarship ($1,000 award) – Jeffrey K. Binder; Dr. Faye Eagles Scholarship ($500) – Katie Ann Smith; Dr. Arthur L. McAuliffe Scholarship - $1,000) – Trenton Talbitzer; Fallen Comrade Scholarship ($500) – Jeffrey K. Binder; The Loomis Institute Scholarship for Internal Health Specialists (two $750 awards) – Sara Jerman and Jacob Scherer; Standard Process Inc. Scholarship ($2,000 award) – Abbi Sunner (July 2011), Justin Baker (November 2011) and Matt Palm (February 2012).  

Each recipient received an awards certificate and had an individual photograph taken with Dr. George A. Goodman, Logan’s president. Patricia C. Jones, vice president of institutional advancement, served as mistress of ceremonies.
