Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs Reaches Fundraising Goal: Presents $10,000 Check to the Arthritis Foundation

The Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs' Student Doctors’ Council presented Ms. Jan Bignall, executive director of the Arthritis Foundation, with a check for $10,300 during Logan’s student field day event on July 18. Students raised money through penny wars, a benefit dinner at a local restaurant, T-shirt and popcorn sales, and encouragement from Logan faculty members and alumni. Logan fielded 10 total student teams that participated in this year’s Arthritis Walk, which was held May 11 on Logan’s Chesterfield campus.

“Through the fundraising efforts of our students, faculty and alumni, we exceeded our goal of $10,000,” said Christina Lynch, Student Doctors’ Council president. “With chiropractic in the forefront of arthritis treatment, we are excited to be a huge contributor.”

The annual nationwide Arthritis Walk event raises funds and awareness to fight arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability.   Arthritis is one of the leading causes of disability in the United States and negatively impacts many lives. Logan's effort raised awareness to the community and has contributed funds for upcoming research to aid those who are suffering.
