Foot Levelers, Inc. Pledges $750,000 to Capital Development Projects at Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs
March 5, 2012
Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs has announced that Foot Levelers, Inc. of Roanoke, Va., world’s exclusive provider of individually designed Stabilizing Orthotics and other therapeutic products, has pledged $750,000 to Logan’s Montgomery Health Center renovation, currently underway on its Chesterfield, Mo. campus, and Logan’s newly opened, Southfield Health Center off-campus. Both facilities feature Foot Levelers clinics.
Kent S. Greenawalt, president and CEO of Foot Levelers, recently notified Logan President George A. Goodman, DC, FICC, about the gift. “We are delighted to support this world-class facility” said Greenawalt. “There is no better investment than the mind of a young chiropractor.”
Dr. Goodman noted that creation of the Southfield Health Center and renovation of the Montgomery Health Center are important parts of Logan’s ongoing plan to improve and enhance its students’ educational experience. “We deeply appreciate the generosity of Foot Levelers’ gift to Logan College of Chiropractic/ University Programs,” said Dr. Goodman. “This valuable support is a measure of Foot Levelers’ dedication to the Logan and chiropractic education.”
Logan opened Southfield, its expanded 6,200 square-foot health center, in south St. Louis County in late summer 2011. In addition to the Foot Levelers Clinic, the Southfield health center features 14 patient treatment rooms, a patient intake room, two laser treatment rooms, and space for a clinical laboratory and diagnostic imaging. Electronic medical records are part of the daily clinical practice routine. The center also includes a BIOFREEZE® Sports & Rehabilitation Center, the first satellite center to be located off of Logan’s 112-acre main Chesterfield campus, which provides athletes of all ages with “hands-on” rehabilitation techniques and injury prevention treatment.
The $1.4 million renovation project of the Montgomery Health Center, located on the Logan campus, involves a floor-to-ceiling updating of the 13,000 square-foot health center. When completed in April 2012, the Montgomery facility, which was originally opened in March 1982, will include within The Foot Levelers Clinic three new intake/consultation rooms, 17 renovated outpatient treatment rooms, and a contemporary lobby reception area with a 25-foot elliptical reception desk. Additionally within The Foot Levelers Clinic, the Logan Student Health Center will also feature an “open-format” treatment area with five additional private treatment rooms and two new dressing rooms, including renovated clinicians’ and administrative offices. The project also includes HVAC upgrades and new fire sprinkler systems throughout the first-floor and lower-level classroom areas in the Montgomery Health Center building.
