George Goodman, DC, FICC, president of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, has announced that Professor Norman Kettner, DC, DACBR, DCBCN, chair of Logan's Department of Radiology, has been selected as the school's 2011 recipient of the Emerson Award for Excellence in Teaching. Emerson sponsors this award annually to recognize and honor more than 100 outstanding educators throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. Dr. George A. Goodman, DC, FICC, president of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, has announced that the school will send a team of students to compete in the 2011 Chiro Games to be held November 5-6 in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Logan will compete in Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Flag Football, Golf, Running, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis and Volleyball. Read More >

Dr. George A. Goodman, DC, FICC, president of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, has announced that expansion and renovation work on the school's Bogey Hills Health Center, located at 2067 Zumbehl Road in St. Charles, will be completed this month. The project involves nearly doubling the size of the health center to 3,200-square feet of space with the addition of renovated space next door to the existing clinic. The updated Bogey Hills facility will include four adjusting rooms and three physical therapy bays. Established in January 1993, Logan's Bogey Hills Health Center was remodeled originally in 2008. Goodman, DC, FICC, president of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, is pleased to announce that Dr. Jack Struck, Logan class of January 1957, of DuQuoin, Ill., has been honored as the “2011 Chiropractor of the Year” by the Illinois Chiropractic Society. Logan Trimester 7 Students Card Ceremony on Oct. 10

When Logan students reach Trimester 7, and have successfully completed their Comp boards, they begin treating fellow students and family members in the Logan Student Health Center. To mark this significant educational milestone, Tri-7 students attend a special ceremony where they formally receive their Logan clinic business cards. On October 10, during this year's Tri-7 Card Ceremony, each student is recognized individually and awarded his or her business card to signify the beginning of their educational experiences as Logan interns.

Logan Alumnus Receives Chiropractor of the Year Award

Dr. Rick McMichael, a member of the Logan Board of Trustees from 2007-present, and immediate past-president of the American Chiropractic Association, has been honored with the ACA's Chiropractor of the Year Award. The award, the ACA's highest honor, recognizes exceptional service, achievement and/or leadership to the profession. Dr. McMichael exhibited all of these and more during his two-year term as ACA president, while also fostering a spirit of increased cooperation and unity of action among ACA and other chiropractic groups. A September 1972 Logan College of Chiropractic graduate, Dr. McMichael has a chiropractic practice in Canton, Ohio. Read More >

Logan Student Wins Logan Cup at 9th Annual Scottish Games

The 9th Annual Scottish Games, held October 1, 2011, were once again a huge success. Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs once again served as a sponsor of the Games. Better yet, one of our Logan students, Tri-6 Richards Williams, won the Logan Cup, as Amateur Athlete of the Year for the Games! Six Logan students, all members of the new Logan Highland Athletics Club, competed in the Games.

George Goodman, DC, FICC, president of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, has announced the renewal of several 3+3 articulation agreements with a number of undergraduate schools including California (Pa.) University, Indiana University—Kokomo, Middle Tennessee State University, Slippery Rock University, University of Nebraska—Kearney and Viterbo University. Logan's Division of Enrollment Management, which engages science faculty at four-year undergraduate colleges and universities across the United States to establish these “3+3” articulation partnerships, currently has articulation partnerships with 47 institutions in 23 states.
