Logan Educational Wing Takes Shape

Construction of the new educational wing on the southwest side of the Logan's main administration building is on schedule for completion by the end of October. The multi-level facility will provide a state-of-the-art student assessment center and a new admissions/financial aid suite. The assessment center will allow students to make clinical observations and share techniques for improved patient outcomes. Additionally, it will allow students to transition from the classroom to the exam room in a real-time clinical assessment setting, thus ensuring that they possess expert knowledge of body mechanics and proficiency in chiropractic techniques.

Retired Army General Rebecca “Becky” Halstead, a national spokesperson for Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP), will speak to the student body of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs on September 30 about her own personal battle in overcoming physical pain to achieve her career goals. The presentation is scheduled at 9:15 a.m. in the William D. Purser, DC Center on the Logan campus at 1851 Schoettler Road in Chesterfield, Mo. Logan President Dr. George A. In September 2010, Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs instituted a First Responders Chiropractic Care Program to offer complimentary chiropractic care to first responders who work in the St. Louis area, including police officers, firefighters, emergency medical ambulance technicians and returning military soldiers (since 9/11). At its one-year anniversary, Logan President George A. Goodman, DC, FICC, has announced that the program, offered through the school's suburban health centers, is a major community service success. George A. Goodman, D.C., F.I.C.C., president of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, has announced new personnel appointments at the school. John-Herbert Jaffry has been named registrar replacing long-time Logan employee Alva Rozar who retires at the end of this calendar year. Ross Mattox, DC, has joined Logan as a diagnostic imaging resident in the radiology department. Dr. Martha Kaeser, an August 2008 Logan graduate, has begun her one-year fellowship in diagnostic imaging. Read More >

Logan College of Chiropractic Submits Record Number of Case Studies and Research

The faculty of the Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs Department of Radiology has submitted a record number of case studies and research papers for the 2012 ACC RAC Conference convening in Las Vegas, Nev. ACC-RAC 2012 is the combination of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC) meeting and scientific/educational conference, which emphasizes educational structure, administration, teaching and peer reviewed presentations, and the Research Agenda Conference (RAC), which focuses on the development of scientific knowledge, skills and attitudes through workshop sessions. The submissions will undergo peer review, and selection for the 2012 ACC/RAC conference will be announced later this year. One of the submissions is co-authored with faculty from Harvard Medical School and the Athinoula A Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, a collaboration developed over the past 10 years.

Nearly 200 New Students Join Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs

Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs welcomed nearly 200 new students to its suburban St. Louis campus from all over the world, including the United States, Canada, South Korea and Norway. Traditional and nontraditional students begin their educational programs in January, May or September. "This group of students has all the characteristics of a strong class," said Dr. Boyd A. Bradshaw, vice president of Logan's Enrollment Management Division. "They exhibit energy, inquisitiveness and a true sense of purpose."

Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs held its 165th commencement for the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic on Saturday, August 20, 2011, in the William D. Purser, DC Center on the Logan campus in suburban St. Louis. The ceremony, which included the academic hooding of each graduate, honored 66 students with the conferral of the Doctor of Chiropractic degree by Logan President George A. Losapio has been appointed interactive media manager; William F. Heran has been named an admissions advisor; and Mary B. Nagle, MBA has joined Logan as an admissions specialist.
