Jami Brown, DHEd, RN, CNN
Dr. Jami Brown received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (2002) from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi, a Master of Science degree in Nursing (2006) focusing on Nursing Education from Regis University, Denver Colorado and a Doctor of Health Education (2009) from A.T. Still University, Kirksville Missouri. Dr. Brown earned her credential as a registered nurse (RN) in 2002 and has been serving as nursing faculty since 2010. She earned the West Texas A&M University Teaching Excellence Award in 2011.
Dr. Brown holds national certification as a certified nephrology nurse (CNN). In addition, she is an active and proud member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, American Nurses Association, Tennessee Nurses Association, Association of Black Nursing Faculty, American Nephrology Nurses Association and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Her years of experience within the nursing profession include a background in the areas of critical care and dialysis nursing. Her research interests include renal disease, HIV/AIDS, competency of nurses, and healthcare disparities.
