James Brantingham, DC, PhD
Dr. James W. Brantingham received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1983 from Southern California of University of Health Sciences and practiced full-time for 15 years. In 2005 he earned a PhD in Clinical Sciences from the University of Surrey in Guildford, England. Dr. Brantingham has authored over 63 papers and has specialized in chiropractic extremity research. Under the auspices of the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters he published a systematic review of manipulative therapy of lower extremity conditions, published in the J Manipulative Physiol Ther in 2009 and also included in National Guideline Clearinghouse of the United States Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Dr. Brantingham is the first chiropractor to publish a randomized controlled trial on chiropractic treatment of hip osteoarthritis in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Brantingham maintains an intense interest in research into chiropractic care for osteoarthritis.
