Dana McWay, JD, RHIA, FAHIMA
Dana McWay is the Clerk of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. She is an honors graduate of St. Louis University and St. Louis University Law School. She is both a Registered Health Information Administrator and licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois. She served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Myron H. Bright, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and worked in private practice before becoming a court administrator. In her work as a court administrator, she was responsible for implementing a fully electronic case filing and management system in 2003. She completed her term as a Director on the Board of Directors of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) in 2015; served as former Chair of AHIMA’s Professional Ethics Committee and a member of AHIMA’s Committee on Professional Development. Dana received the Legacy Triumph Award from AHIMA for the first edition of her textbook, Legal Aspects of Health Information Management, and received the Distinguished Member Award from the Missouri Health Information Management Association. She has published articles and made numerous presentations across the United States.
