Dr. George A. Goodman, DC, FICC
President, Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs
George A. Goodman, D.C., F.I.C.C., was named president of Logan College of Chiropractic by the school's board of trustees in December 1992 and officially began his duties as Logan College's sixth president on January 1, 1993.
Before being appointed college president, Dr. Goodman served for 10 years as Logan's vice president of chiropractic affairs and also held the posts of clinic director and dean of the school of postgraduate education at Logan. A tenured professor, Dr. Goodman has been a member of the Logan faculty for 37 years and spent 20 years in private chiropractic practice.
Under Dr. Goodman's guidance as president, Logan College has achieved several significant milestones over the past 18 years including reaching debt-free status, enrolling 1,000 students for the first time in the school's history, and receiving federal grants for infrastructure, technology and research.
Dr. Goodman was one of five U.S. chiropractic physicians to serve on the U.S. Department of Defense Oversight Advisory Committee that spearheaded the effort to have a federal law enacted in 2000 which mandates chiropractic care for active duty military personnel.
Dr. Goodman is a past vice president of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) and has worked extensively with the Committee on Accreditation (COA) of the CCE. In 1997-1998, Dr. Goodman served as president of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges, a consortium of North American chiropractic colleges accredited by the CCE. Dr. Goodman was elected a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractic (F.I.C.C.) in 1983.
Dr. Goodman has served on the Missouri Statewide Health Coordinating Council, the Health Committee of the St. Louis Council on Aging, as president of the Excellence in Missouri Foundation, and as vice president of the Chesterfield Arts Commission. Dr. Goodman was president of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce in 2004; in 2002, the chamber named him its "Business Person of the Year." Dr. Goodman is a past member of both the board of the Salvation Army and the advisory board of STAGES.
A native of Peoria, Ill., Dr. Goodman and his wife, Elizabeth Goodman, D.C., Ph.D., dean of university programs at Logan, live in St. Charles County near St. Louis.
