Veterans GI Bill

Have You Served in the Military?

Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs has participated in the Post 9/11 benefits program as a 100 percent Yellow Ribbon Program participant since the fall of 2009 for veterans or their families enrolled in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program or the Master of Science Degree program. Most recently, Logan has committed to provide funding indefinitely for those qualifying at the 100 percent benefit level.

Both the GI Bill and Post-9/11 educational benefits can be used for all academic degrees and programs at Logan. Since Logan has been certified to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program, if students qualify for 100 percent educational benefits, they will receive full tuition coverage for the Doctor of Chiropractic and Master of Science Degrees.

For the Doctor of Chiropractic Program, the direct cost of tuition and fees for one trimester is $8,905. For three trimesters you will have direct cost of $26,715.

Direct cost for three terms  $26,715
GI benefit applied
- 17,500
Remainder to be covered under the Yellow Ribbon Program and Logan scholarship
$9,215

Due to the intensity of the program, most students choose to apply for federal aid to cover their books and living expenses. Logan currently allows for students to receive financial aid up to $8,247 per trimester. This may be covered by Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, Federal Work Study or any scholarships the student may receive from outside sources. If you choose to borrow the funds, you can expect the following:

Books and living expenses for one term  $8,247
10 trimester of enrollment in the DCP  X     10
Total approximate loans
$82,470

For eligible participants receiving less than 100 percent of the benefits payable under the Post 9/11 GI Bill program, you will receive tuition and fee benefits as follows (using a 60 percent allowance as an example).

You will be eligible for 60 percent of the annual funding maximum of $17,500. You receive funding toward your tuition and fees in the amount of $10,500 per year.

Direct cost for three terms  $26,715
GI benefit applied  10,500
Direct cost to be funded through other aid programs
$16,215

You will need to fund this to cover 10 trimesters which will total approximately $48,645.

An additional $82,470 will be used to cover books and living expenses for 10 trimesters in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program. You will have loans of approximately $131,115 to complete the Doctor of Chiropractic Program.

For eligible participants receiving other than 60 percent of the benefits payable under the Post 9/11 GI Bill program, please contact the Office of Financial Aid to be provided an estimated cost based on your level of eligibility.

Less than one percent of Logan’s Doctor of Chiropractic graduates default on their student loans. For more information regarding educational benefit eligibility, please contact a VA representative or visit www.gibill.va.gov.
