About the Course:
- When can I take the Medical Terminology Course?
You may take the course the term prior to your expected entrance date.
- Who can take the Medical Terminology Course?
Fully admitted Doctor of Chiropractic students may take the course.
- If I took a class on medical terminology at my undergraduate institution, does it qualify for me?
The class must be a doctoral-level course.
- What if I am not fully accepted to the Doctor of Chiropractic Degree Program?
Please contact your admissions coordinator to complete the admissions process to be able to enroll in the course.
- Is there a required textbook, and where can I get it?
Yes, but it is a free ebook and is embedded within the course itself.
- Does this class require me to be online during designated period of times?
Since the course is based in Blackboard, you will be able to access it at any time of the day. There are no designated times when you must be online in this course.
- What is the structure of the course?
Upcoming cohorts are as follows:
-
June 3-September 11
- July 15-October 23
There are 15 weekly assignments, but you can do more than one assignment per week. You can complete the course at your own pace – the only time constraints are the beginning and end dates.
If you are not able to enroll early, you will automatically be enrolled during your first trimester.
- Will I be getting a Logan.edu email address?
Yes, Logan email is the primary means of communicating with students, so prospective students receive a Logan email account upon being conditionally accepted. Once your account is created, you will receive instructions on how to login from the Information Technology Services department. We encourage you to regularly check your Logan email account, starting when it is issued, throughout your time as a student, and continuing as alumni. Important, time-sensitive information will be sent to this email address. Online students will only be sent information through their Logan email accounts.
- What if I've never used Blackboard before?
After you have received notification of your Blackboard login, you will also be able to take Blackboard’s orientation course online. There is contact information and support on Blackboard’s website as well.
