Weiwen Chai, BS, MS, Ph.D.

Director of Nutrition and Human Performance
Dr. Chai holds doctorate and master of science degrees in nutrition from the University of Wyoming and has completed a two-year NIH postdoctoral fellowship training in nutritional epidemiology and behavioral cancer prevention at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center. Her Bachelor of Science is from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
As a nutritionist with extensive training in basic science and epidemiology, Dr. Chai's research focuses on the associations of dietary and plasma micronutrients and obesity and inflammatory biomarkers with disease outcomes such as obesity and cancer. She is also interested in studying the interrelationships between dietary oxalate, oxalate absorption and predisposition to kidney stones.
