The Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Science is a broad based program of study requiring successful completion of a minimum of 119 semester hours. The curriculum provides a generalized study of the biological sciences, allowing flexibility in the prerequisite coursework selection. Apply now!



General Degree Information

The degree is designed to accommodate those students seeking to enter the work force with a Baccalaureate Degree in general biological or health sciences. Completion of this degree program provides an introductory background of chemistry and physics principles and is frequently selected by those students pursuing a non-science major or satisfying specific state licensure requirements. The coursework is suitable for those interested in achieving a general familiarity with biological topics in preparation for employment or entrance into health related programs requiring an introductory level of study. Coursework can be applicable to the Baccalaureate Degree, the Doctor of Chiropractic Degree and/or the Master's Degree Programs. 


Degree Requirements

Successful completion of a minimum of 119 semester hours is required with 65 in the required degree major courses and 54 hours in required general education courses. Academic and professional excellence is expected and encouraged. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required for graduation. Transfer coursework is not calculated into the cumulative GPA.


Residency Requirement

A residency requirement consisting of a minimum of three trimesters of full-time (12 credits) enrollment must be completed at Logan in order to qualify for receipt of the Bachelor of Science degree in Life Science.


Doctors of Chiropractic Seeking the Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Science

Graduates may qualify for the Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Science. The application process is initiated through the Office of the Registrar. Following the application, the transcripts will be reviewed of all coursework taken prior to the Doctor of Chiropractic Degree Program as well as coursework taken at Logan. The applicant will be requested to furnish official transcripts of all coursework subsequent to graduation with the Doctor of Chiropractic Degree as well. A determination will be made as to the measures needed to complete the program. Graduates must fulfill the requirements of the Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Science, which were in existence at the time of their application for the Bachelor of Science Degree. After five years, the student must reapply.
