Logan University and a host of associations, chambers and charities are proud to present the 10th Annual Big Bash Connection Event.

The Big Bash is an event designed to pull together local business people, associations, charities and chambers and serves as a massive connection event. The goal is to collaborate, cross promote and support one another.

Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend. 

Backstoppalooza at Chesterfield Amphitheater - October 4th


The 2nd Annual Backstoppalooza fundraiser concert will be on Saturday, October 4th from 5:00 pm – 10:30 pm at the Chesterfield Amphitheater. The concert benefits the Backstoppers Inc., an organization that provides immediate financial aid and other support to the families of Police Officers and Firefighters who lose their lives in the line of duty.

Three popular music groups (Big Love: Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band; Silver Bullet STL: Bob Seger Tribute Band and local band, The Dog's Breakfast) are among the entertainment planned for the event, which will raise money for Backstoppers, Inc. The concert will provide an evening of live music where area residents and families can meet firefighters, paramedics, police officers and other first responders who serve the community, all while supporting a worthy cause.
  
Backstoppalooza will be at the Chesterfield Amphitheater at 631 Veteran's Place Drive in Central Park featuring a large stage with fixed and lawn seating for up to 4,000 people, plus modern concession and rest room areas.

Moonlight 5k Walk/Run at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex


The City of Chesterfield’s 3rd annual Moonlight 5k Run/Walk will be at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex on Saturday, October 11th beginning at 9:00 pm, in partnership with Fleet Feet Sports. This nighttime Run/Walk is the perfect opportunity to set a new best time or to prepare for the upcoming Turkey Trot as you enjoy the cool air under the moonlight. Get into the festivities with glow in the dark face paint and glow sticks to help light the way as you weave throughout the Complex and Monarch Levee Trail with your friends and family. The course map can be found here.

Online registration is available here. Online registration closes Friday, October 10th at midnight. Race day registration will be also available.

The St. Louis Scottish Games and Cultural Festival


The St. Louis Scottish Games and Cultural Festival will be taking place at Forest Park near the Missouri History Museum on Friday, September 26th and Saturday, September 27th. The gates open Friday at 5:00pm with the Opening Ceremony beginning at dusk. On Saturday, the gates open at 8:45am and the Awards Ceremony begins at 5:00pm.

Logan University is a proud sponsor of the Games and the Logan Cup Award will be presented at the event for the Athlete of the Year. Thanks to Drs. Montgomery, Parish, Mannello, Grant and Rodenbaugh for their time and contribution. In addition, thanks to all the Logan students and interns donating their time.

2014 Chiro Games Meeting - October 1st



Interested in competing in the 2014 Chiropractic Games in Cocoa Beach, Florida? Attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, October 1st at 12:15pm in Room G134 to learn about team selection, travel itinerary and cost for participants.

This year's Games will begin on November 1st and wrap up on November 2nd. A total of 11 sports will be featured, including co-ed competition in beach volleyball, softball, running, tennis, hockey, golf and swimming. Men’s sports include flag football, soccer, and basketball. Women’s sports include soccer and basketball. Table tennis will be introduced this year, utilizing the same format used for tennis where you must have at least three players with at least one of the opposite sex.

The speaker will be Dr. Lawrence H. Wyatt, and his topic is Radiology and the Athlete’s Knee. Dr. Wyatt is a 1984 graduate of Logan and completed his radiology residency at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Currently, in addition to maintaining his radiology practice, he is a professor at Texas Chiropractic College and is active in many professional organizations and activities.

All third and fourth period Trimester 7, 8, and 9 classes on Thursday are canceled so students may attend the Oration and hear Dr. Wyatt’s presentation. Faculty, staff, and all other students are invited and encouraged to attend as schedules allow.

Please help welcome Dr. Wyatt back to Logan’s campus and support the program in honor of Dr. Howe.
