Bachelor of Science in Human Biology & Life Science Accelerated Science Program Requirement for Admission Although the non-science credits need not be earned prior to matriculating to Logan, the required coursework in math is a prerequisite to admission. Official transcripts should be sent from the high school from which you graduated and all college transcripts. Physical Qualifications for Admission The following qualifications are essential for participation in the Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology & Life Science program at Logan University. All students admitted must individually be able to perform satisfactorily in the College's classrooms and laboratories. The following physical qualifications as defined by the Cabinet and ultimately by the Board of Trustees are: - Physical and mental abilities of the individual that provide for successful participation and completion of the standard bachelor of science degree program.
- An auditory sense sufficient to record auditory instrumentation.
- A visual sense sufficient for identification of histological, cytological, microbiological and pathological structures through microscopy.
- The ability to utilize manual dexterity in order to perform within the laboratory settings.
Application Procedure Classes are enrolled in January, May and September. It is recommended that applicants begin the process at least three months prior to the date of desired matriculation. To apply send the completed application form and the application fee to the Admissions Office. Have official transcripts sent from the high school from which you graduated and all colleges you have attended. Transcripts must be received directly from the sending institution to be official. International Student Application An international student seeking admission to Logan University must provide the following documentation in addition to the aforementioned admission requirements: - Proficiency in English. (TOEFL score of 500 or better.)
- Submit evidence of having the financial resources or funding commitment to complete a minimum of one year of education.
- Meet the equivalent educational requirements as students matriculating from the United States.
- Submit official transcripts to the Admissions Office for evaluation. Catalogs for evaluation by an outside service may be required.
- It is recommended that the student submit all records at least six months prior to the requested date of admission.
Transfer of Credits Courses required that are taken at other accredited institutions must be completed and official transcripts received before the degree will be granted. Coursework transferred into Logan does not affect the grade point average earned at Logan. Only coursework that is equivalent in credits and course description can be accepted in transfer for a degree major course in the curriculum. In some cases of question, a proficiency examination may be necessary to acquire advanced standing credit. Registration The registration process is completed through the mail or in person in the Registrar's Office prior to the first day of class. Orientation On the first day of class all students are required to participate in an orientation program for a brief introduction to the College facilities, educational programs, policies, regulations and philosophy. Requirements for the Degree: - Good academic standing and satisfactory completion of the required course of study.
- Demonstration of satisfactory professional ethics and moral conduct in all phases of student life.
- Satisfactory completion of required hours of study as matriculated Bachelor of Science degree student of which at least 60% of the required degree major courses are completed in residence at Logan College.
- Discharge of all financial indebtedness to the College and clearance of all departments.
- Presence at graduation when the degree is conferred is expected.
