The Dr. William M. Harris Wellness Center opened its doors in October 2000. The workout center provides students, faculty and staff ages 18 and older an opportunity to improve their health and wellness. Need a class to help you get in shape? Join us every Tuesday evening from 4:30 - 6:00 pm for Yoga or every Thursday from 4:40 pm - 5:20 pm for Mat Pilates. Minimal cost to participate in classes. Are you more interested in personal training? Check out our indoor facility: 3 Star Trac treadmills, 3 Precor ellipticals, 3 Life Fitness bikes, 1 Concept and 2 Rower machines, Life Fitness weight circuit and various free weights, benches, and accessories. 5 TVs which can be tuned to different stations with the option to listen to audio via a members personal head sets. Logan College of Chiropractic has a usage agreement with the Jewish Community Center. Students are offered a significant discount rate. This includes usage at both the Chesterfield and Creve Coeur locations. Open registration is in the Logan Cafeteria during the first few weeks of each trimester only. More of a team player, we offer organized team sports, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s soccer, men’s hockey, men’s golf and men’s tennis. Consider intramural sports such as men’s softball, coed softball, coed volleyball, and flag football. Others added based on student interest. The Wellness Center also features several outdoor facilities for independent recreation including: softball field, tennis courts, soccer field, basketball court, 2 sand volleyball courts, and a quarter mile outdoor track. Sporting goods available for checkout: basketballs, volleyballs, tennis balls, softballs, bats, bases, as well as many other items. Check out these favorite Logan College sporting events? Compete twice a year with fellow students at Field Day. Students in various trimester classes in compete in recreational sporting events as a way to promote teamwork. A barbeque is held and prizes are awarded to the winning teams. Field Day is held the 3rd Wednesday each July and the 2nd to 3rd Wednesday in October of each year. The SDC determines the exact dates. The Chirogames is an athletic competition among Chiropractic colleges nationwide. Various sporting events included are: softball, flag football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, swimming, tennis, running, and golf. Chirogames 2009 and 2010 will be held in Cocoa Beach, Fla. The Scottish Games are a popular local St. Louis event that occurs every October. Logan is one of the sponsors of the athletic portion of the events. Individuals from across the US and other countries participate in the athletic competitions. Additionally, there are many food and cultural craft booths. The Logan students play an integral part in the monitoring of the well-being of the athletes. Tri 7-10 interns attend to any injury that occurs to an athlete. Tri 6 students man the Logan information booth as well as perform postural spinal exams for interested individuals. ASP - Tri 5 students work as "shaggers" and "spotters" for the athletes in the field. This event exposes students to the biomechanics of the body and brings chiropractic awareness to the community.
