Logan’s Department of Sports and Rehabilitation is designed to assist chiropractic interns in the management of injuries. The department is divided into two divisions, each designed to parallel the “total body concept of wellness”. The department is structured to assist the Logan interns’ treatment of patients in a clinical setting.
Rehabilitation Division The rehabilitation division augments manipulative treatment strategies that accelerate patient recovery and wellness. The rehabilitation division functions as a public out-reach to field physicians (DC, MD, DO). The center accepts referrals from field physicians whose patients need the labor intensive rehabilitation procedures the Center offers. Attention to increasing functional capacity, while maintaining appropriate documentation is stressed to students. The program is designed to facilitate the rehabilitation of difficult pathology as well as chronic failed back syndromes. Sports Division The clinical focus of the sports division gives the intern an understanding of Sports Medicine and it’s application to general chiropractic practice. It provides specific clinical assessment and training in the diagnosis and treatment of athletic injuries. Protocols of the sports division include: - Athletic taping
 - Airway management
- High altitude medicine
- Concepts of a field exam
- Spine Board packaging
- Hot and cold athletic event management
- Fundamentals of diagnosis & triage
Clinical Experience The Logan student who pursues a concentration in sports injuries and rehabilitation will receive a unique experience not currently found in the medical field. The Logan clinic system utilizes a network of field doctors that refer sports injuries, difficult and failed back cases into the BIOFREEZE® Sports & Rehabilitation Center. These patients will enable interns to become familiar in managing different cases.
