Instructor: Steven P.Weiniger, DC

Renowned lecturer and author, Dr. Steven P. Weiniger is back on campus this weekend to present Posture, Motion & Chiropractic: Posture Assessment, Exercise Protocols and Therapy for Pain Relief, Rehab, Performance and Active-Aging. As Baby Boomers age and we all slump over our keyboards and smartphones, posture will grow as a consumer concern. People concerned with pain, how they look or how they age will create a potentially powerful brand message for DCs. Observing and then correcting sensorimotor errors between perceived posture and motion and external reality is an important and often overlooked clinical factor in neuro-musculo-skeletal (NMS) practices.  The StrongPosture™ exercise protocols presented here are focused-motion exercises which correlate subjective perception with objective reality to help people train stronger posture to build true functional improvement for pain relief as well as rehab, performance and aging well. Practical and individualized protocols progress patients along Balance, Alignment and Motion (B.A.M.) exercise tracks to strengthen the ability to objectively control the alignment and motion of the pelvis, head, and torso as we balance. Patients see true functional improvement and become excited with care as they experience changes in how they move during normal daily activities. Low tech tools (exercise balls, bands, foam rollers and pads) engage people with sequenced exercise progressions which can be tailored for: teens with back-pack slump, computer workers with forward head posture-induced neck and shoulder pain, athletes seeking the competitive edge of biomechanical efficiency, and Boomers and seniors who want to age well. As evidence-based insurers demand active are plans, posture Exercises build a road to successful practice which integrates active and passive care for improved results and retention. This excellent class is taught by Steven P. Weiniger, DC. Dr. Weiniger is a1979 graduate of New York Chiropractic College. He is impairment rating certified by the ACA Council on Orthopedics, is on the postgraduate faculty of the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic, and on the postgraduate faculty of New York Chiropractic College. Dr. Weiniger is the Vice President of Back Care Associates and is the author of Stand Taller-Live Longer: An Anti-Aging Strategy for Building a 10-Minute Daily Strong Posture Exercise Life Habit. A Posture Practice engages people with posture to build awareness of the kinematic benefits of moving well. From assessing posture with a digital photo to interactive Posture Principle demonstrations, you’ll learn to communicate the value of StrongPosture™ and the bio-mechanic benefit of unlocking muscle and joint motion to build a wellness identity as the Posture Expert.
