This weekend Dr. Mario Fucinari presents Session # 3 of the Insurance Consultant/Peer Review Certification Course. In this session Dr. Fucinari presents Medical Record Reviews, Risk Management, Guidelines for Chiropractic Quality Assurance, and CCGPP Guidelines. He begins with the Mercy Conference Guidelines and discusses full spine radiography, stress radiography, patient identification requirements, elements of the examination, chart progress notes, and use of abbreviations. He discusses transfer of records, use of modalities, stages of care, passive care and active care. He discusses short and long range treatment planning, patient cooperation, and treatment objectives. He also discusses failure to meet objectives, complicating factors in a case, contradictions to care, and re-evaluation guidelines. As the class continues he discusses Aetna Guidelines for acute low back pain, patient goals, diagnosis, assessment, AHCPR Guidelines, National Committee for Quality Assurance Guidelines and record review. Dr. Fucinari covers the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters including who is CCGPP. He discusses lower extremity conditions, upper extremity conditions, soft tissue conditions and chiropractic management of low back pain. He concludes this excellent weekend presentation with a comparison of Mercy Conference Guidelines and CCGPP Guidelines, takes questions and presents case studies. The principal instructor for this course is Dr. Mario Fucinari. Dr. Fucinari is a 1986 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. He is an accomplished teacher on clinical documentation, HIPAA training and implementation, OIG compliance guidelines, Medicare guidelines, and stroke and cervical manipulation. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, certified in Insurance Consulting and Peer Review, a Medical Compliance Specialist-Physician and an instructor in clinical documentation for the NCMIC.

Why Attend? In the state of Missouri you must have this certification to perform some insurance claims reviews and participate in peer reviews. For those of us not going for certification this weekend seminar can be taken as a stand-alone presentation providing us with important information to help us understand the rules and regulations that will get us paid for the treatment that we render.
